wpegg: Keep the faith. GOG have turned around bigger battles. None of us thought we'd see EA here.
Some of the Ubisoft stuff sounds like great victories, but even the time of those victories is over now that Uplay is in effect. Concerning EA – I can hardly name an EA game on GOG that's not three or more console generations old. I've waited for some of that stuff, but they don't really count as battles won for GOG. :(

Grargar: Braid isn't a classic.

Kristian: The definition of classic that GOG used prior to starting to sell new games was games 5 years or older. Braid is from 2008 and so qualifies.
Definitely not. Risen is also 5 years old and the hint wasn't classic...

That just IS the criteria they used before signing up games back then. They had to be atleast 5 years old. Braid qualifies.

I am repeating. The hint they gave for Risen did not have the word classic in it. This one does.

King's Bounty: The Legend disagrees. Original release date April 25 2008, GOG release date June 2 2010. So it was released here a bit after 2 years. Similar story with Darkstar One, Flatout, Il-2 Sturmovik and quite a few more.
GOG never had an age criteria, despite what people claim every now and then.
TimeScape: Journey to Pompeii

For the sake of discussion, I am gonna make a different guess. The words "Time" and "Journey" in the title made me think of this one. Plus, being an Anuman game makes it likely.
I bet it has nothing to do with the "time"...
There is quite a lot of references in the cover art: http://maiden-world.com/articles/somewhere-in-time-hidden-messages.html
(see full picture here: http://playitloudforever.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/somewhere-in-time.jpg )

so maybe it is DUNE or Blade Runner? :D (but it can be that Z too :D)

I agree. Time is not necessarily in the same context here, as much as it is simply taking place in a different time period.

Here's what we know, and what's obvious from the helpful link you posted:

Futuristic/Sci-fi setting
Robots
Gun violence
Red and blue robots

Also, since Z comes out later this week anyway, it just makes sense when mixed with all the above hints.

As always though, I'm open to any classic :)

svmariscal: I'll go with either Z (clever spotting of the red/blue thing) or, if the hint is indeed about time travel, Future Wars
That would be an instabuy for me as it was one of the first games I played on my Atari ST and my first adventure game.

Man, did I spend a lot of time on this game.
It was The Labyrinth of Time. Huh...

Even stranger is the classic release on Tuesday...I suppose the conference on Thursday has something to do with that.

Maybe, but it's not unprecedented. Slave Zero was actually released on Tuesday.

There is no pattern! *runs up the walls*
This was probably my favourite hint, both guess- and release-wise.

whatever it will be, regarding that hint, it seems like it's something interesting.
Nicely done... I, for one, am impressed.
