I've complained about being suspended, and I'm still unhappy about it. Most of all though I think the biggest problem (aside from current events) is just how out of date this whole website is.

GOG you need to fix this site.
Have clearer rules and an appeal system.
Even admins make mistakes.
A block function.
better security against bots.
A better way to download all your favorite games based on their tags.
be upfront with thing we are and are not allowed to talk about. not taking sides, I just want more transparency.

I hope someone sees this and updates this ancient system.

How can you post if you are suspended?
Well I guess the forum software is old and dated.

GOG's sales and game pages aren't though, they are just poorly implemented in some ways ... mainly due to bloat and missing features (i.e good filtering). Some of the missing features can be made up for with scripts that various people have provided, but alas bloat is a very bad modern trend, that increases every year.

Some sites are diligent and do the right thing when it comes to avoiding bloat. Unfortunately most go the easy do nothing route, and lay it all on the visitor ... forever requiring more stuff to be loaded into RAM etc, and the records show that increases every year. Very few do the optimizations they should in regard to images and background scripts etc.

My suspension was expired but I'm still annoyed about it.
You know what you did. It's justice.

(what did you do?)

Don‘t worry about it. I got suspended a while back for a post that was (back then) about 9 months old and I didn‘t even remember it. They said, „many gamers“ complained about this post.

:D
I wouldn't say outdated unless you mean the forums.

Good point. More like too "modern", right in line with current design trends, empty space and huge click areas that mean a lot of wasted space on desktop, little detailed information but lots of flashy, moving, eye-catching things, lots of constantly running scripts, reduced features, little user control, and of course only working in the most "modern" browsers...
Since gog is CLEARLY never going to update this forum, I've long felt that gamers would best be served by another forum altogether. An alt-gog forum that has all the "modern" features forums need, like spoiler tags, image posting, the option to mute offensive posters, etc.

There would be off-topic forums, game help forums (spoiler and non-spoiler), tech help to get games running, mod discussion... the works. Y'know, the basic things every other forum in existence has. Gog could then devote more(?) attention to the gamesite itself.
If it was any other site, I'd wholeheartedly agree...

...but GOG and overhaul are not things to utter lightly in the same sentence.

During the last overhaul the News section got moved from the top of the main page to the bottom. Three years on, and I'm still trying to figure that one out... ;-)
Yeah, this has been true since I joined. I was kinda hoping that GOG Galaxy 2.0 would be the impetus for an overhaul to ya'know, match the design of it, since people seem to like how slick it looks, but here we are, with GOG still being shortstaffed as ever.

But I see they're still trying to hire a Frenchman to live in Poland.
