Yes, I have played the GOG version's Easy, Medium and Difficult campaigns so far.

What is the learning curve? And I take it I don;t have to deal with actual human crap like most city sim games. :P
Not sure I'd call it the best sale ever... the original Insomnia sale was just crazy awesome and I always had good luck during those "Pay $2 for a surprise game" promos. But this is definitely their customer-friendliest sale yet: no gambling, no time limits, no artificial scarcity. Instead, it encourages you to check for new deals every day. If you can control your impulses just a tiny bit, you can make an informed choice on the final day of the sale. Afraid you'll blow on your savings during the early part of the sale and won't have any money left when they inevitably drop the Bethesda and EA backlogs at the end of the sale? Well, worry not! Because this sale gives you the chance to set your priorities straight. And for that, I really appreciate this sale format!

Also, they gave out System Shock 2 for free. And that one's the best game ever made. Period.
Yes, it is a great sale... that I'm barely taking any advantege of :P Almost my entire wishlist is on sale, so it's all very tempting, but reason dictates that I shouldn't get anything more. I already bought Book of Unwritter Tales 2 and Anna's Quest (and got Gabriel Knight free), so I'm all set with point & click adventure games for a while, and I still have quite the backlog of RPGs and strategies. Right now I'm having a tough inner battle on whether I should get Oddworld New & Tasty, or call it quits and save my money.

But yes, it's a monster of a sale, and if I had more money to spend on games I could reduce my (quite substantial) wishlist to single digit for a fraction of what it would normally cost. GOG really outdid itself this time. And without any annoying "mystery game" gimmicks or time limited offers.

I put everything that I’m interested in buying and that has a nice discount into my cart, and on the last day of the sale I will thin out my selection until only four or five games remain that I really want to have right now. Seems like a solid plan to me.
Well, I've definitely have already gone over my predicted budget for the sale and there is still a week to go, so I guess it is a success for GOG :)

It's easy. For the 'Easy' games, you usually build a production chain and that's it. In the Medium or Difficult games, you sometimes have to change production because the old product comes obsolete, produce something at a loss due to regulations and subsidize it with a different business arm, or increase earnings by some amount. There is no randomness and you can save all time. Your focus will be on the production chains and logistics. It's difficult to transport goods from one storage in two different directions, so the easier way is usually that it all ends up in one storage from which the warehouses get their goods.

tinyE: I'm broke and barely got anything. ;P
I started out with nothing and I still got most of it left...

Here I am, quoting you again (hey it rhymes ;P)
But I was asking myself the same the other night. Dat price, yummy.
And from what I've heard, yes, the game's pretty solid.
no way, this sale has bad discounts. one of the best sales, was the double insomnia sale

This. This actually made me spend money on this sale even though I didn't plan to. No time limits, no random games, no insomnia crap.

It's not bad... but don't you feel that something is missing? Do I have to say it for you? :D

Hookers and blow? That's what's missing, right?

Close. I'll give you a hint: booze abuse is the way to it.
