Master of Orion 2
- diplomacy is simplistic
- turn-based combat becomes tedious in the later part of the game
- limited amount of ship designs to create and save
Hard Truck Apocalypse
1.Annoying bugs, some of them crashing the game in "this" moment when you've made progress but didn't save yet.
2.Unconvinient "random" mechanism of weapons available in shops/found in enemy wrecks (in effect I had sometimes only once or twice on entire game chance to buy/obtain some types of weapon).
3.I could use some bigger variety of trucks (not bad, but for example there is no "small but fast" model)

Sonic Heroes
1.Necessity to end game four times with all teams (to have access to final round).
2.Some really annoying missions for Chaotix Team
3.Issues with multiplayer mode - I would be really glad, if they could get rid of some rather weak modes (such as duel of the teams), but add more levels to those better.

Eador: Genesis
1.Lack of "normal" save game mode.
2.Lack of online multiplayer.
3.Sometimes not entirely logical "after-effects" of your deeds (sometimes even completely surprising).

Sonic Riders

1.Lack of online multiplayer.
2.Lack of proper tutorial (you really need to get used to this game to enjoy it).
3.Having more unique tracks in urban style instead of this weird mix with some "partially new" levels at night.
Thief

1-uhm... it ends?
2-Looking Glass studios does not exist anymore.
3-No game will ever match its greatness. EVER.

You can't select your weapon in the Arena or in the Tournaments. This gives you the possibility to spawn with a weapon that you're not even remotely proficient with.
To be fair, that goes for the NPC's as well. I quite like it as it offers an opportunity to become more proficient with that type of weapon while presenting you with a genuine challenge. If you could always use your weapon of choice winning tournaments would be a walk in the park.

I really dislike the rather unfortunate impact it may have on your game that roughly half of the lords have randomly generated personalities. Taken to the extreme it can lead to this situation:
'All the lords left the realm!'

In my current game (609 days in) I've already seen several lords leave the realm - and as direct consequence even a lady I was courting - which is quite discouraging to say the least.

I also dislike the implementation of the (somewhat hidden) luck score (shown on the screen prior to accepting retirement) which, if lowered significantly, can lead to permanent loss in attributes though, apparently, that's easily avoided (depending on whether or not you've chosen the realistic saving mode) by never getting knocked out in a battle.

Grim Dawn
- Too many different damage types and resistances
- Dual wielding pistols is bound to equipment
- Secret areas with shrines, which makes you miss them sometimes

Stronghold
- Defending a siege is too easy, which leads to:
- Attacking a castle is tedious and frustrating (I'm looking at you, Mission 15!)
- Some buildings only have one perspective to look at

I was so impressed with myself that I managed to beat lvl 15 that I made a guide for it:

Little did I know that lvl18 was a repeat of the level only much, much harder :P

Stronghold is amazing in the end, but I do view one other thing as a big flaw: the attacks come too quickly so that most levels are over before you know it. Building a big castle with a strong economy is a lot of fun, but none of the campaign levels where you can build a big castle give you a chance to finish building one.

Fair point! I actually don't mind the random weapon assignment that much, though it can be a bit irritating to be spawned three times in a row or more, with a weapon that is almost useless to you. For me, it's getting spawned with a polearm haha.

As far as half of the lords having the combo of random personalities and the chance to wear out their welcome everywhere...well yeah that can be annoying. I wish they would at least hang around and wander around while hostile to everything, with the ability to siege and maybe establish their own kingdom...

I haven't had much issue with Luck in the vanilla game, but it is brutal in the Brytenwalda mod. Seems like you get injured and lose stat points at least 75% of the times you get knocked out.

Oh, forgot another thing, maybe my least favorite thing in the entire game!...enemy lords having such a high escape rate when their knocked out as well as when you have them as prisoner. I understand the gameplay reasoning behind it, but it's annoying to see an enemy lord knocked unconscious, stuck under a fallen horse, and then see the message that he got away. Maybe I wouldn't mind it as much if the player also had a high chance to escape but nope, you get auto-captured 100% of the time.
Fallout: New Vegas
It's glitchy as can be. I've especially had a ton of issues with saves becoming corrupted, luckily they could easily be fixed (it sometimes adds some extra bits to the save name, just find the save folder, find the save and delete the extra bits). Lately it doesn't like to close sometimes, and will lock up my computer, requiring a full reboot usually.

The writing is full of gray areas but the Legion is fairly black and white. There are only a handful of NPCs who say good things about the Legion, everybody else hates them, and some of the things the Legion does is done in a mustache twirling style of evil. With some factions you think "Hm, why should I join them", with the Legion you end up thinking "Hm, why WOULD I join them?". Big missed opportunity, especially since some lore in the game paints the Legion in a fairly decent light, surely a better light than most of the game does.

The companions aren't particularly reactive. Sure they'll react to major things, like you helping/joining a major faction (especially the Legion), or things that are directly tied to their personal questlines, but that's about it. Maybe Skyrim has spoiled me a bit, but the companions in New Vegas don't care what you're doing or where you're doing it 95% of the time.

Thanks for the guide, gonna try it soon! Maybe this will end nearly 10 years of frustration.

That's true. Because of that I always found the sandbox mode to be much more enjoyable than the campaign. Especially after I discovered that you can start an invasion or plague or some other event by pressing F1. A feature that I found nowhere documented.
Quality thread.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (which is my favorite title of all time)

1. Balance. Given the powerful weaponry you can find (plus your magic capabilities and familiars), the game is less of a challenge than it should be.

2. Maria is not playable in the original PlayStation version.

3. I wish the developing team had implemented all the fancy stuff IGA hinted at that was left out due to time constraints: stats/inventory/equipped screen graphically consistent with the rest of the game, those skeletons that again light candles after you had snuffed them out sword-slashing, Alucard's own room in the castle...
Megaman X (or most of the megaman series)
1) No Harder/difficulty modes
2) Levels are too short (once you know them)
3) You don't get to use the mech/suits nearly enough
Pokemon Heart-Gold/Soul Silver
1) IVs and EVs are not displayed
2) Official server is dead
3) Emulator devs insist to not give it wi-fi support (other than risky, amateur, elusive, homebrew models)

Pokemon Uranium
1) Even if it is a tribute to older games in the series (lots of references, easter eggs etc.), it doesn't have their gameplay mechanisms and it's a shame (old EV training and box trick was THE, shit)
2) No legit pokemon other than a minority of a handful
3) Nuclear have bugs, like wrong depictions (some corrupted species have normal sprite, etc)

Interesting thread ...

Final Fantasy VI

1. So technically buggy that an entire stat (Evade) literally doesn't do anything
2. Character balance is seriously messed up (in terms of some characters being clearly better than others); this is ameliorated by a different balancing issue, which is that if you explore everywhere for the best equipment and grind a little, the game is trivially easy. Economizer + W Magic on Realm + Ultima = basically instant death for anything, so what does it matter if some of your party members are kind of useless?
3. I don't like any permanently missable content in an RPG; but a permanently missable character (more accurately, a character who can die mid-game if you don't handle something properly) is the worst. I want to play games without walkthroughs, but it's hard if I know that will just end with me missing important content.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2

- easy AI
- most campaign missions can be passed too quickly
- suffers from the "you are the chosen one and this mission is the most important of all time ever" syndrome, particularly in the earlier missions

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 - Yuri's Revenge

- imbalanced
- even shorter campaign than in the base game
- no Yuri campaign (not counting the separate co-op missions)

RollerCoaster Tycoon

- both the guest and staff AIs are stupid and buggy
- vague info on the extent to which the emotions of the departing guests affect newcomers
- no editors (RCT2 had some, but those weren't perfect either)

Star Trek: Armada

- slow ship/station production
- slow and dull AI
- openly hates OSes newer than Windows 2000 :P
