When you see Bethesda, Activision, etc. games finally added but they're not on GOG Connect. I cry every time.

It's always something absurd like "Buy it at 50% off even though you already bought it at 75% off elsewhere. DO IT TO SUPPORT GOG!" No! Get a donation button or setup a gofundme. I want good/competitive deals only. (ಠ_ಠ)

There's not even a complimentary GOG Connect coupon discount. GOG hasn't even thought that up yet. It's either fully free or full price.

No idea why people keep expecting newly released games to be on connect.

I could understand morrowind, etc. But the ones just released?

I think the publisher gets to determine whether their games will be on connect or not. I hope they do come to connect though. I paid full price for Fallout 3 and New Vegas at release, so I'm not buying them again.

You're talking about Bethesda. GOG will never convince them to connect the elder scrolls games at any point in time.

On the other side you get companies like Devolver Digital that do it all of the time. There's no "lets hope they buy it now and then down the road just give it to existing owners as a courtesy". It's either connected at launch or it most likely will never be, since dumping their old catalog on GOG is the last companies want to be expected to do with their products.

Not even coupons. The bass turds. :|

Speaking of things that make me sad... seeing the upteenth thread which includes the same grief and "woe is me!" as all the others. Someone change the record, please! (or at least contain it to one or two threads only)

While I do understand your point of view, they do not actually own you that copy, never did you anywhere get such a guarantee

So, as far as I am concerned, it is a fair game. And it is coming from someone who already owns oblivion on steam and physically. Would you request a movie from Google Play store if you bought it previously on a DVD?
Yes, the truth is sad -- if you want competitive deals only, your best bet is to look elsewhere.

It obvious that Bethesda and the like want to exploit the goodwill (or desperation...) of those who stick to GOG only for ideological reasons or otherwise. Or the gullible ones who buy twice or thrice on different stores... And thus they try extract as much money out of them as possible. Why would they go through all the time and effort to arrange a GOG release and not make the most out of it? It's business.

Business is sad.

But you can wait for a good deal (how many years did it take to get Oblivion here? A little more can't hurt, can it?). Or shop elsewhere.

Then be happy and enjoy the things you already have. And dream on of the things you want. Or go for a walk and pet some donkeys.

You can get digital copies of movies these days. They usually come with a code for a platform depending on which store you purchased them from. :D
Seeing how much the community has turned sour and unfriendly. It is quite a contrast compared to six years ago.

Bad example. I can't recall ever buying a movie and then years later the studio saying "Oh, hey, we see you've bought our movie before. Here, have a digital copy on the house." Nope, that doesn't happen.
I honestly can't tell if the OP is being serious, or is mocking the entitled morons who whine about Connect.

Just looking at posts from dumbasses like Breja here is a good demonstration of that. "I disagree with you, therefore you are a moron hurr durr."

If you feel somehow entitled to a free copy of a game here becuase you already bough another copy elsewhere, then yes, you are a moron. You're not entitled to a free copy of anything in another store just because you bought one elsewhere. Why would it work different for games on GOG? I won't get a free new edition of a book or movie if I walk into a store waving a receipt for another edition from a different store I once bought.

GOG isn't extending their hands in a begging gesture demanding you buy the game again if you own it already just to support the store here like you seem to suggest. They simply have a product for sale. You own it elsewhere and don't want a GOG copy? Don't buy it. You want a DRM-free GOG copy? Buy it, don't whine about being entitled to it. GOG connect is a limited promotional offer, not a permanent policy of throwing free stuff at entitled assholes.
