I don't want to risk getting bugs when I plug into them so I'll stick to VR porn.

The N64 joystick was better because it used the same tech in ball mice.

The stick was crap -- I had 3 different N64 controllers, and all of the sticks were terribly loose after just a year or two of use.
I suppose this experience could vary depending on which games one played, but if you ever played a Mario Party game, or Super Smash Bros., or any number of others, joystick abuse -- e.g., spinning it rapidly in a circle, or flipping it side-to-side as fast as possible -- was pretty much a requirement to do certain things within such a game (performing special moves, getting back up after being knocked down, etc.). What's worse, all that wear and tear could leave the joystick housing with tiny bits of plastic grit (ground off the "ball" of the stick during the aforementioned vigorous activity) stuck in there, potentially causing further abrasion, as well as causing performance problems and general annoyance when using the stick. (Fortunately, there were till some games in those days that didn't require the stick to be used much, if at all.)
It was a nice early try, but it was poorly-thought-out, and was easily surpassed by Sony's DualShock. (Though at least the 64's controller was less uncomfortable for long-term use than the Dreamcast controller.)

The plastic might not have been great for heavy users and those that didn't clean it but the same type of problem can happen with the other joysticks where the dust rubs off on the sensor and is harder to fix.

My first 360 sure as hell didn't last 11 years lol

It crapped itself after 3 and a half. This was the upgraded version too with the new chipset.

My Halo Reach version though is still going pretty strong. After it goes I'm not sure I'll stick with console games since B/C is still sketchy. Sure the Xbone has 100 games listed but they are not MY games.

Maybe I'll join the PC master race at last.

the 2010 slim xboxes seem to be rather solid though
though i dont really like them i stack my consoles and the slim actually uses the vents on the top for active cooling

i nearly ended up frying my xbox slim and my ps3 because of that

i generally just get the original console instead of relying on its replacement for back wards compatibility
at least then i know it will work all the time

Well I'm rather space constrained I'm afraid. The PS3 (George Foreman version) was awesome because it played 3 generations of games. Then it went kaputsky so If I want some Silent Hill 2 or Shadow Colossus goodness I have to borrow me brothers PS2 and do a game of Tetris as where I can actually put the damn thing.

We should just make one big console and have Mexico pay for it.

Teeny but no BC. Also all my current? games are on the 360. I'll need to get an original XBOX at some point or get a better PC so I can emulate the stuff.
