which would be this
http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2016/02/the-worlds-cheapest-smartphone-is-looking-awfully-shady/
an smart phone from india called the freedom 251 costing just shy under 3 dollars
while its certainly possible to get a smart phone on a budget >> http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015/11/walmart-is-selling-10-android-phones/

this thing however well its an adkom ikon 4 from china with its logo covered in WHITE OUT !
adkom is unaware of their product being "rebranded" by ringing bells the producer of this little piece of dubious phone technology

but the fun doesnt stop there because the damn thing looks like an iphone 6 running IOS
all the icons either look ios or have been ripped from ios
its not untill you look closely and see the playstore icon is when you realise this is an android device

im sure both adkom and apple are veeeeerry inthreshted in this

For that money, you can afford to be blind.
haha this is amusing.
Next generation rebranding: Wite-Out coverup

I can totally feel the freedom.

Also, what's up with those icons at the bottom. Is it specially designed for fishermen and farmers?

This is why we pay premium so the government can impose extra taxes on imported electronics? Some things can't be made large scale from small startups with the infrastructure we have. And electronic hardware manufacturing is one of them.
Also, don't understand why its called ''freedom'' and who thought this wouldn't blow up in their face. And its Chinese too ironically enough.

that adkom ikon 4 thing looks a lot like an iphone complete with IOS skin running on top of it
so this is a rip off of a rip off it seems

the white out is hilariously incompetent however

maybe ringing bells got their hands on a stack of surplus phones and broke out the white out to resell them in india ?

or adkom is lying through their teeth and ringing bells is a front for them to sluice off unwanted inventory because the ikon 4 sucks ass

either way the white out the the retail price of this thing and the actual ikon do not add up
Snif, I would largely prefer that cheap phones would be like old nokia phones rather those smartphones knock-off :(

Those phones were no joke. They could survive the apocalypse.

I doubt my BB Z10 will last half as long as my old Samsung flip phone.

My Nokia phones fell on the floor many times, endured tough conditions while at work on construction sites and had barely any scratches. With my Samsung smartphone, I have to be extra-careful like it was some kind of glass jewelry :(
...that
that stil doesnt adress why they can sell a phone thats 50 dollars for 4 dollars
something very fishy is going on round here

i dont think they cant just use correction fluid on it to block it all out is all

thats cause it is
a super computer at pocket format which is highly breakable

if i were even more cynical id say that was on purpose so people keep buying more of the damn things

Subsidy and bribery in the back room.

Somebody's gettin screwed here.
That pricing could be intended to go along with a service package, wherein you pay "$3.64" for the phone but the actual cost is kicked back to the supplier via the monthly account charge. That wouldn't be significantly different than what we often see here: sign this contract for 2 years and get this $600 phone for $50!" Or it's hype, to get the name into the mind of the consumer.

The White-Out is pretty funny, though. Reminds of some trade shows I attended in the early-2000s, where we would see these new Chinese manufacturers appear with products that were near exact copies of the long-established OEMs, down to the paint colors and layout and placement of decals. Are they so lacking in creativity that they can't even come up with different paint schemes and decals, let alone original mechanical designs?

yes and for once its not the customer ( lets see how long that wil last maybe there is lead in the glass or something or the batteries tend to go all splodie )

and for around 4 dollars you can forgive a smartphone for al ot of faults no matter how crap it is
