All-new gameplay footage with developer commentary + Q&A session on Twitch.tv/GOGcom!

This coming Monday, GOG.com and CD PROJEKT RED invite you to a special live streamed event at the GOG.com Twitch channel!

We'll be showcasing 15 minutes of completely fresh The Witcher: Wild Hunt gameplay highlights, while Damien Monnier - Senior Gameplay Designer, and Miles Tost - Level Designer, will be coming in live from the studio to provide developer commentary for the new footage. They'll be offering their insight, and an exclusive peek at the development process behind closed curtains at CD PROJEKT RED.

Once the gameplay commentary is finished, we will hold a live Q&A session on the air. Damien Monnier and Miles Tost will take the time to respond to live comments coming in via Twitch chat, as well as to select questions from the GOG.com community forums! It's a rare opportunity to ask about all the saucy details of The Witcher: Wild Hunt development.

If you have any questions for the folks at CD PROJEKT RED, you can submit them right here in this thread. You have until Sunday, Jan 25 at 7:00 PM GMT to submit your questions, when we'll be selecting the most interesting ones to throw at the devs during the live chat.

The live stream will begin on Monday Jan 26 7:00 PM GMT / 2:00 PM EST / 11:00 AM PST (you will find a countdown clock below) at Twitch.tv/GOGcom. Follow our channel for an e-mail alert when we go live. We'll see you there!

Will we see the game played with mouse and keyboard?
In games like Skyrim I always get bored after a while of questing, because everything starts to feel samey and the story just doesn't add anything either. How are you going to have a better pacing in W3 so that this kind of stuff doesn't happen? Will we be forced to advance the story at some point or are all quests available from the beginning?

Also: One weakness from the Witcher series were the reactions of the NPCs to Geralts ingame actions like stealing. In an open world game this would be very bad. Do you have any new NPC reactions in W3?

thehind: First thing I noticed in the new bits of gameplay footage that were released earlier yesterday was that the UI elements in general are too big and that it gets way too busy and cluttered with prompts at times.

So my question or rather questions are:

Is the UI and its parts like the minimap or Geralt's health bar scalable in size?

Can you hide parts of the UI like the minimap, Geralt's health bar, the horse's stamina bar, the enemies health bar or the combat log?

Are the huge lettered prompts telling you how much XP you got for killing an enemy scalable in size or can you hide them altogether as well?

I would appreciate it too if you could play the demo during the Twitch stream on the PC and with mouse+keyboard, thanks.
Yep, not a fan of those huge XP pop-ups here as well.
Pretty much everything in the UI is quite a bit too intrusive and covering up too much of the screen. An option to either scale down or hide certain or all UI elements is definitely needed for the PC version or otherwise it's almost impossible to properly immerse oneself into the game.

Other topics I would also like to be discussed in greater detail are:

- the alchemy system (auto-refilling potions, yes or no; is it possible to figure out recipes by chance through randomly mixing ingredients together?)

- the character progression system (still the same 3 branches like in TW2, swordsmanship, magic, alchemy?)

- the witcher senses feature (and how much hand holding there is to it?)

- the map or region progression (are the different regions successively unlocked as the story progresses or are they all or most of them available from the start?)

- does stealing from people's houses have any repercussions this time around?

Cheers.

Edit:
Mouse + keyboard would be really nice, especially since 99% of those so called professional journalists for whatever reason prefer the pad over M&K, even at those TW3 hands on events of yours, or so I heard.

First off I would just like to express my immeasurable gratitude at the fact that you guys at cd project red are at the vanguard of the revolution of the rpg genre . Finding the right concoction of exploration , gameplay and gripping narrative is a daunting feat . Any other developer and I would be worried , but not cd project. Something that comes intrinsically to them . The flag of the genre are in their hands and I wouldn't have it any other way .

As for my question I would.like to know whether there are more than 1 kind of Mount in game apart from horse variations. And secondly since my pc broke down a few months back (over which I haven't recovered fully yet mind you :'( ) and I was gifted a ps4 for my birthday I'm hoping to pick it up for the latter . So is the graphics gonna be remotely close to the pc' s high at least ? Or will it be lower than that to increase performance . Mind you it really isn't that big of a concern . Just that most other questions are pretty much already answered by u guys . Would help out a lot in determining whether I'll save up and make a new pc or just get on console . Thanks in advance . Looking forward to the game like there's no tomorrow . :D
Hi there !
First of all I would like to thank you for creating the game of my dreams. Ever since 1998 ( when I read my first Witcher book - Blood of Elves ) I've been dreaming about a game that could capture the same magic that is present in the books. Witcher 1 and 2 are both excellent but I guess they were just a prelude to a TRUE continuation of Witcher saga.
My only fear is that after Witcher 3 there will be no rpg left worth playing ( until CP2077 ;) ).

My questons:

1. Is there a chance to encounter and fight a manticore in the game ?

2. Can we expect any ultra-hard, non-mandatory, but rewarding challenges in the game? For instance - a powerful monster ( challenging even for maxed out Geralt ) hidden somewhere in an area accessible only by completing a secret quest ? And mayby dropping a unique crafting component or piece of equipment ;) ? Because you know - lack of challenge kills the experience

3. Are the recommended specs on pc enough to play 1080p/60fps on ultra with physX enabled ? ( Yeah I know you won't answer that ;) )

Thank you again - I hope you sell enough copies to buy out rights for fallout from Bethesda - that would be something to wait for after Witcher 3 ;)

Best Regards,
Witek
Dear CDPR,

There is only one question that I would like you to answer:

"When are we going to see fresh PC gameplay footage on the maximum settings?"

Kind regards
Super excited here. Can't wait.

My question (as taken from my earlier witcher 3 forum post):

- Is Witcher 3 heavily optimized for multithreading?
The small (perceived) performance difference between minimum and recommended intel CPUs would suggest so.
Dear CDPR!

Can we import our Xbox 360 save games of The Witcher 2 to the Xbox One version of the Witcher 3?
So my first question is about the crossbow. I was wondering if you shoot a griffon in the wings, will that take away it's ability to fly or just cause damage?
My second question is on underwater combat works exactly in the game.
And finally my third question is will it even be physically possible to run this game with ubersampling on.
Will The Witcher 3 on PC come along with GOG Galaxy Client?

There will be any quests under the sea?
Hi CD PROJEKT RED Team

First of all thank you for being so awesome and i have feeling this game will be EPIC.

Question:

Since the gameplay is expected to be 200+ hours, with huge map, could you please elaborate on how repetitive side quests will be?

I know you don't need it, but GOOD LUCK, can not wait to pick up my CE pre-order.
Question:

[english]
We can continue the game after the end of the storyline?
[polish]
Czy będzie można kontynuować rozgrywkę po ukończeniu fabuły ?
Hi CDPR,

Could you give us information about the wild life? Will there be random events that occur during your journey through the wild?

Traversing mechanics are new to Witcher. I'd like to know how complex it gets at climbing up / going down.

What's the favorite thing you devs do in your game?

Thanks!
Hi CDProjekt!

Played TW1 and TW2. Loved them.
You guys rock!

I wish you would address the elephant in the room, once and for all.
Let's not get caught in words. Even if strictly speaking, no «downgrade» has happened, the fact remains the VGX trailer stands as the apex of graphical fidelity the game has yet to live up to. No trailer since December 2013 seems to exhibit quite the same impeccable visuals.

1. What's happened? Why are you bent on *not* disclosing which platform(s) footage is on? The omission, in particular, seems puzzling.

Thanks for all your hard work. You're shockingly talented.

Warm regards,

Shureyev
