Not bad. I hope it doesn't turn into a Game of Thrones clone. Geralt eats his proteins and lifts, he looks too buff to move like a witcher. Yennefer with purple eyes, yes! Comments said Season 1 will be about the books with the short stories. I recognised some scenes. Is 1:12 from the "Thanedd coup"?

Do you feel this will turn out good?
Geralt and Ciri look ok, Yennefer, Tris & Fringilla are meh! :/
Wouldn't really call any character recognizable. If the books would have been the only official material available, it'd have worked, but after the games, those looking different will be a real issue.

Other than that, I guess I'll see (eventually) when it's actually out. Can't tell much from a trailer.

Hack 'n slash soap opera.
Edit: Typo.

Not with black people (including Dryads) in a medieval Slavic based setting, no.

I can easily imagine that the majority of viewers have never played any of the games...

Nope. Like I already said in the other thread, it looks bland, generic, forgettable and "hollywoodized" to the point of being unrecognisable.

And here I'm looking forward to Geralt meeting Zoltan while exclaiming 'Zoltan, you son of a bitch!' while the camera zooms in on their flexing muscles during the handshake.

Do you think he'll call Wild Hunt 'one ugly motherfucker' before the battle starts as well? That would be the perfect slaughter of The Witcher, Hollywood Style.

It looks better than I thought but I don't know if that means a lot.
I didn't have high hopes. Most of the cast looks off, imho, but it might be that they will grow on me. At first, when the cast was revealed I was very doubtful about Yeneffer's actress, but in trailer it looks like she might be able to pull it off. I'm very conflicted about Ciri, she looks too old and hmm, too serious (well, on one hand she kinda gives that elder blood vibe, but on the other hand... damn, I just can't imagine her acting like a brat, as it was in the books). I still can't get used to Geralt and Triss.
I hope they don't rush it to only one season. There's so much in the books, so many places and so many people. I especially want to see Cahir, Regis, Milva and Pavetta. And I don't see Dandelion in the teaser.

Ciri does resemble Calanthe and she looks perfect for me.

The Wolf Medallion doesn't look cool though.
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. There are so many ways this can go wrong, like the writers turning out to be among the bunch of talentless self-congratulatory hacks that seem to plague the streaming & television industries right now. Alternatively the showrunner could reduce The Witcher to the generic fantasy shlock its supposed to be rallying against, arming the Nilfguardians with orcish swords and putty armor with the intention of portraying them as ireedemably evil.
I wonder how long this will take to make it to DVD and Blu-ray?

The army running down the hill at 1:05 looked a little fake, but maybe it's just heavily compressed to reduce the download size of this trailer.

Never.

It's a Netflix exclusive. The whole point of those is to make people subscribe to Netflix, and they never get released in any other way.

Noooooooooooo
