Zach1928: Does anyone anticipate the GTX 860m being able to handle it? I've got got an alienware 13 which obvs. won't hit ultra but I anticipate med-high settings at 1080p (perhaps shadows on low)
Shadowstalker16: Depends on how well the 860M fairs vs the GTX 660. Just yourself ... laptopts are always weeker :)
But nvm ... he still can start the game with some settings probably :)

According to this: http://wccftech.com/nvidia-responds-witcher-3-gameworks-controversy/ anyone with non Maxwell GPU should be worried about Witcher 3 performance. It's really hard to believe that a developer which believes in DRM free gaming, has chosen the proprietary GameWorks over other open solutions ...

Although wccf is kinda shady, good find! But Maxwell also includes the GTX 750Ti, which is a low end gaming GPU. If it runs on that, it'll be great!

Well, i know for sure that my quite old PC can't handle Witcher 3. If i'm lucky, i will finish my new one at the end of summer (buying one component per month, so it will take a bit - the ones costing me an arm and a leg being the CPU/RAM/MB/Graphic card - and yes, that means serious strain over my tight finances).
So, when Witcher 3 will end its production cycle (expansions, DLC's), i will finally have a rig to play it:)
Not a big deal, plenty of games in the backlog.

Zach1928: Honestly I think we're okay. I read something saying its not that CPU dependent and in my experience the "requirements" are always overstated. I remember playing ME 2 on an HD 4350 just fine even though the box said it wouldn't run on that specific GPU. Also here is something interesting http://www.pcgamer.com/witcher-3-graphics-options-performance-and-settings/
I've never understood the requirements thing anyway. There's never any indication of what the requirements are FOR. I'm pretty sure "recommended" is not just "to play the game" but to "play the game at incredibly high settings and resolutions." And what is "minimum? I've seen at least one review site (for laptop graphics ironically) state that 1080p is the absolute minimum for a game to even be considered playable. Worse, people in the comments were even agreeing with it. (Though others were calling him out).

Zach1928: My gut says it'll run lol. Also, I ran Crysis 3 with medium-high settings on a crappy GT 540m, graned it was 720p but that card was like 50% less powerful than the recommended specs I've seen at least one review site (for laptop graphics ironically) state that 1080p is the absolute minimum for a game to even be considered playable. Some benchmarks: http://www.pcgameshardware.de/The-Witcher-3-PC-237266/Specials/Grafikkarten-Benchmarks-1159196/
HairWorks has insane impact on AMD Radeon performance. It's shocking how poorly the first generation of $1000 priced GTX Titan has aged. Only 2 years have passed since release and it barely beats the $200 GTX 960 at 1080p.On the other hand the R9 290X has aged extremely well.

Nvidia is crippling Kepler so Maxwell looks stronger and sells better; at least, that's whats going around anyhow.
