I guess that it will be a bit like Crysis 1. Since the recommended Specs are only for High NOT Ultra. I doubt any single GPU will be able to run the game on Ultra with 60+ FPS fluent at every point in the game. Especially the large city with all the NPC. Maybe in a year. Still really looking forward to it. Looks like I can play it on medium to high.
But what concerns me is that they say the recommended are meant for 30FPS. So the 60FPS specs are way higher or they will concentrate on PC optimization after launch since it is way cheaper to update then XBox One or PS4. I really hope they optimize better till launch :S

My System:
- Gigabyte GTX 770 2GB (OC)
- i5-4570 3.20GHz
- 8GB Ram

Since its CDPR, we can expect the optimization patches. Probably included with the The Witcher 3: Enhanced Edition

Shadowstalker16: That will be enough. Make sure you get a good PSU. Also, a GTX 770 will outperform the 680 so that may be worth looking into. There is little reason to get a 680 today, since I think you cam get better cards for lesser. Depends on pricing on your budget in the end though.
Unfortunately GTX 770 is quite expensive. I haven't been able to find anything below $400. I am on a budget so the PC I am building cost me $700 and something, which is pretty good since it will be able to run anything that is currently out.
Thanks for posting the specs so early. Some other vendors wait until the last possible moment, or even a month in advance, which is not enough time. Now to see if my system can handle it. There used to be a website, which I can not remember, that would tell if the system would meet the minimum or required specs. Does anyone recall it?
From the latest previews it sounds like a controller is mandatory too. How can a game be designed for the PC when months from realise they still haven't worked out what the keyboard/mouse setup?

Yeah, I would expect that too. The Witcher 2 looked really good even on low settings while the highest settings with Ubersampling were near impossible to reach at 60+ FPS at launch. So they scaled the game pretty well. I am really looking forward to it.

Is this accurate? Can someone confirm? If this is accurate, I will have to cancel my pre order. If I want a console game, I will buy a console. Mouse and keyboard for PC or no game purchase.

And the relevant section
I used a controller to play because that’s what the demo was set up for, but I’m curious about how the mouse and keyboard controls are coming. There are things like Geralt’s spells, for example, and you can only select one at a time on a radial menu. Is there a reason for that? It feels like they could be mapped to hotkeys.

I’m not 100 percent sure, but I think there is a way to quickly cycle between those skills on keyboards, and there might even still be one on the controllers. I’m not 100 percent sure. Basically, quick slot switching, and that’s something more easily implemented on keyboard, for obvious reasons, because you have more buttons within reach. But, truth is that the PC controls are still being tweaked.

-------------

I just don't see how they can not have the interface stuff down already.

Take the sys specs with a pinch of salt, I got wicther 2 to run on onboard gfxs [amd hd3000]

I'm sure my Gtx750 ti will handle it, just need to upgrade my cpu [phenom 965be] just waiting for fx 8350 to drop in price..

You guys in the US are lucky. For me AMD hardware costs twice as much due to import duties............but is still cheaper than Intel+Nvidia. Anyway, GTX 970 for $340 : http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GeForce-Overclocked-GDDR5-Graphics/dp/B00NH5T1UA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422879690&sr=8-1&keywords=Nvidia+gtx+770

+1 the system specs are bull. No way a game can run equally on two dramatically different CPUs and GPUs.

Thanks to all for the replies. And the links to the system check site!
I'm not very happy about these system requirements. My main gaming PC is a FX-6300, 8 GB RAM, and a Radeon 260X. That's essentially a newer version of the HD 7790. It appears that I'm slightly below the minimum requirements. I'm guessing it would still run, but I'd have to bump down the resolution.

I have no plans to upgrade until there is a new line of R7 chips (R7/370?); I try to stay with the 700/R7 lines because of power consumption and fan noise. Well, that and price. The short version is that I'll probably be waiting until 2016 to play Witcher 3, because of the system requirements. Not a big deal because I have a huge game backlog, but if it ran on slightly lower hardware I'd buy it sooner.

I have your setup with 4GB less RAM. If you play at 900p or lower, I think TW3 will work flawlessly. Maybe you can turn off in game AA and use a less demanding injector like GEM instead. That';s probably what I'm gonna do.
