Isn't that some kind of DRM? If so, don't take me word for it, but hasn't this sort of things always starts epic sh.. discussion? Don't know, just asking.

NuffCatnip: I think I'm one of the (maybe I'm wrong there) few that still mourn the gog downloader. :P
You are not alone in it, brother, believe you that :)

So, after not buying Cyberpunk because of the DRM you added.

You add the same kind of DRM to the Wither 3, a game that I've been planing the extension of for a while.

Well, I guess one more studio to never buy from.

It's sad to see GOG falling from grace months after months.

I took the liberty and fixed the advertisement a bit:

These rewards serve as a thank you for buying or upgrading to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition and supporting CD PROJEKT RED and GOG Galaxy . They also serve as a big FU to those who refuse to use the completely optional and absolutely not forced or pushed GOG Galaxy client because they still think that a DRM-free store should be able to work without a client as well if you so desire and they really need to grow up and use our totally optional and never forced or pushed client.

@GOG: I applaud the courage to actually advertize this horrible reward idea instead of trying to hide it ... did you lose a dare or something?

HappyPunkPotato: I'd love to know the thought process behind this announcement.
Thought process? I'd say some dices and a lot of alcohol were involved ... there simply is no other logical explanation.

With this update you can stroke a Roach, offline Roach cannot be stroked. You are playing on my emotions, I just wanted to hug her xD

StingingVelvet: 1) No other store is even trying to be DRM free.

neumi5694: Except gamejolt, fireflowergames, zoom-platform, indiegala and itch.io, which admittedly are not the biggest stores around.
I wish Zoom would release some of the over 100 games they have signed. They have an excellent chance to compete with GOG but are shooting themselves in the foot. They have been losing more games than releasing. I hope they get better.

Syphon72: Has everyone against this made support ticket damning the removal of drm dlc?? It might actually work if you get enough people to do it. Not being sarcastic.
avatar
IXOXI: You are right, ticket sent.
Nice I hope more people do.

In which universe is Indiegala DRM-free? They mostly sell Steam keys. Their free games are pretty good though.

Nice joke CDPR/GOG. As if the older thread wasn't any clear indication of your customers/fans feel. You simply put up the middle finger and announce this.

In case you missed it, I'll repeat what I wrote in the older thread.

I haven't bought, and will never buy Cyberpunk long as the My Rewards content is locked behind Galaxy, or any other game that will have this crap implemented.

Witcher 3 will be the only exception since I bought the game since release.

If anything, this just tells me the Cyberpunk rewards program was a success.

Oh, hey, our parent company yet again pushes us to trample on our values, or more exactly on the sole remaining one, and on the users who got us in this position of a notable store and dominant on the DRM free market and who may actually care to buy from us specifically and not just whatever store offers the lowest price at the moment. I have an idea, let's also make a news post bragging about the matter!

I wonder if whoever wrote this is one of the current stock of GOG employees, not caring about anything and just doing what was told to keep the paycheck coming, or someone who winced and gritted their teeth while writing it and closed their eyes when posting...
