Satisfying!

We're testing out an up-and-coming feature in GOG Galaxy: Achievement Notifications that will be part of the game overlay in the future, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is our playground!

You too can experience that satisfying feeling of scoring a new achievement in GOG Galaxy, but beware - it's a Beta feature that's still being tested. On you.

November 12 - Update:
To enable your Achievement Notifications, first make sure that you have claimed and installed the 16 Free DLC pack. You should now see a new Game Overlay setting in the client (enabled by default), use this toggle to enable or disable the feature.
If you don't see your notifications - make sure that the feature was enabled for you automatically, or simply try turning it off and on again.

Enjoy the new (and easier to use) Achievement Notifications in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt!

BKGaming: Yea it's because typically with these type of systems a beta update is released and then the next update is suppose to either continue on the beta path or update your game back to the default path with all beta updates included.

Instead that released a new update without the beta features and left us stuck on the beta. So either we go back to default and get the new update without the overlay or stick to the overlay without the new patch.

Seems like somebody didn't think to far ahead on this system...
I tried once again today and now, is possible to set "overlay" beta channel with v1.10.
The problem is that I don't have any "easy-to-get" achievement anymore to confirm the system is working as before. I only wish it was possible to reset the achievements like it is with Steam client, If only because It would add another layer of replayability to this kind of games

Me, too.
After I updated to 1.10 overlay and got an achievement of Heart of Stone DLC, but the notification did not pop up.
It worked before in 1.08.4 overlay.

I tried to get the overlay on patch 1.11 it just rolled my game back to 1.10, do not use this right now
Has anyone got this working yet?
I could set my BETA CHANNELS on only one time, and afterwards it set itself back to off. Now it's off again and I can't change it. But when it was on, I could only choose something like "dditional private channels", is that normal?

Anyone got this working yet?
The achievement pop-up works as advertised, but my game has had a couple of random CTD.
But to be fair I can't say if it's the galaxy update or the windows 10 update that causes the crashes.
dummest idea ever!! please spare us anoying notifications in the game!
Or at least make them optional

Since this last overlay update I am having often random game crashes to desktop, mostly during cut scenes. After 7-8 crashes (during ghost of the past quest) I started digging on the problem and found out about this update.

After disabling the overlay, the game became stable again. I am "running" Windows 10.

If you're using nVidia I think you could try setting Power management mode to prefer maximum performance in drivers. Can't promise anything though ; )

I am with a Radeon HD 7870 and latest drivers, but thank you for the suggestion. I'll wait for an update or more info before enabling this option. :)
As much as I'm looking forward to this - sadly - i started getting crashes with this overlay. I hope you built in a method of gathering logs from crashes :)
