Guys,

I bought the Witcher 3 last year, installed it and put the serial key on GOG, all DLCs were downloaded, patches and stuff, everything went fine. However last month I had to format my computer, so I did it, installed Witcher 3 again and boom......The game was not part of my GOG Accoutn Library.....Now it stays with the "Connect Now" status, I put the same serial key and it says to be already in use, I cant even continue my game because it says my save game is on a more updated version them my current game.....

Please help me, I have open a ticket with GOG however no answer so far: L9ZDRCBJ

I don't use GOG Galaxy, but if the game's no longer in your library, how does it show up in that first screenshot?

Opening a ticket was the right thing to do, as GOG Support are the only ones that can help you. The message you get about the key is expected, once used they can't be reused.

If I may ask, was the game purchased on GOG, retail, or somewhere else?

EDIT: When did you open the support ticket? it may take a bit as it's currently night time in Poland.

Hey Hyper, Thanks for the answer,

I mean Library because when I log in GOG Website or Desktop App, it does't show on My Collection, which I expected it would as I used the serial key on GOG Galaxy.... here is another screenshot

Also if you dont use GOG, do you use Steam or Origin? How do you get the updates?

Retail, at a Store here on Brazil.

Opened by Sunday morning.

The first message was confusing, but I presume he has the game in his GOG account (library) because he is able to deliver pictures of the installed game on his newly formatted computer.

Apparently the updated TW3 wasn't compatible with the save games from his earlier installation, at least that is what the error in the second picture suggests. No idea how old the earlier installation was then, ie. not updated.

Dunno, I'm sure GOG will put their top men to work on this case. Top. Men.

Guys,

I have the game physically, so after I installed it I opened GOG Galaxy, which identifies the game on the PC due it's folder..... However when I first installed last year to play I put the serial key through GOG Desktop App so it would be activated and would allow me to install patches and stuff..... However it looks like the serial key did not bound with my GOG account, now it does not understand that I have the game already and I cant apply patches on it, and as my saved game is from the previous formating installation I can't even play it.....

Ok so you have the physical retail version you have also redeemed on GOG?

Just guessing here, wait for GOG support. Play something else in the meantime, like Jack Keane.

Yep. The retail version comes with a GOG Code so I can activate on GOG, and as I said before, get patches, DLCs and other stuff.

I will check out on Jack Keane.

OK, now things are clearer.

No idea if using the serial key from your retail edition in GOG Galaxy has anything to do with the game is not in your GOG account. I assume it doesn't, and it's just a more general bug that hit your account. It appears that it's your only purchased game, yes? Did you perhaps hide any of the free games? Because if you did, there's a known bug that causes the only purchased game to also hide.

GOG Support will get back to you, and sort you. You just have to be a bit patient, as it's been practically only one work day since you opened your ticket, and with the Summer Sale, GOG Support may be a bit slow(er) to reply.

Oh, and I said I don't use GOG Galaxy (the client). I download my games and patches/updates from side using my browser or the old GOG Downloader.

You're welcome, hope you get this sorted out soon. In case GOG Support doesn't get back to you within the next couple of work days, don't open a second ticket, just reply to the automated email you got for your ticket - you did get one, right?

If you don't have the GOG Downloader already, you can download it here. Note though, that it does not work like GOG Galaxy. It can only download standalone installers and patches, which you have to add to it visiting your library on the site - if you need help with this, just reply to my post here, and I"ll give you the steps required.

And I assume that you haven't hidden any of the free games, yes?
