Hmm... look at the attached screenshot, there's absolutely no indication that you sent me anything. I'd expect a blank message to appear in the right part of the screen, i.e. show your avatar with the time you sent it, and no text, similar to how messages with content appear.
Instead, I have a "ghost" contact now. And I see both the contacts and the messages come with no options what so ever, and no info about registration date and rep either. Just lovely.

Who at GOG thought that this is a good and practical way to go about? I mean, when they tested it among them, did they say "yeah, this works great this way, and makes tons of sense!"?

mmm ; you're right; i didn't pushed the "Send" button in the chatroom

here what happened : i right clicked on your avatar, "Send a message" and your avatar was directly added in the chatroom , i didn't do anything else, aside to send you a friend request earlier....

and yes , the chat system is still in the works, so i have no idea if those issues are unwanted or not, but i agree that's not very well designed atm.

Soooo, clicking on "Send Message" works like "Add to Contacts", regardless if a message is actually sent or not; yep, makes perfect sense.

The Chat system lacks a good chunk of functionality and features, yet the fading-out effect on messages as one scrolls down is there. Surely sounds like GOG's got their priorities straight.

mmm not really the send message for the moment, allow you send a message to someone (depending your settings i guess) -> my privacy settings is set to chat with everyone , and allow to view whishs list to friend only

the only way i see to avoid such thing :is to set chat to friends only : that will "normaly" block the behaviour wa are speaking. in other hand you will lost the hability to chat with someone which isn't in your friends list.

i didn't tested all, but that's how i understand the thing is working or should working. there are probably some improvments which would be welcome, it seems a "tad" akward ; i totaly agree

i think some functions are missing , so it's not the final result; well i hope -_-

I fear that this only means that they'll keep the "title sorting" instead of a "sort title" sorting ... I hope that I am wrong but with title sorting alone they can never sort the games in a franchise correct (just take a look at the Blackwell Legacy).

When you send out a friends invite, is the recipient automatically added to your friends list? Even when the invite is pending on their side?

if i'm not wrong, no , i have "pending invitation" under your avatar only : i think it works properly.. In your side you should had a +1 in the notification system close to 'friends"

i said "should" because we know how unstable the notifcation system could be.

Reason I'm asking is that if I appear as pending on your side, then the setting "with friends only" for the Wishlist is not working properly - I can see your Wishlist just fine.

I've got a good chunk of pending invites, as I've not decided yet how I'm going to go about this feature.

Perhaps you can already see his wishlist, because he sent you the invite and therefore clearly wants to be friends? But he might not be able to see yours since you did not accept?

And correct it seems the person who received the invite , is able to see the whishlist of the sender, that shouldb't the case...if the invite isn't accepted yet
