IAmSinistar: Yeah, the Wishlist is just flooded with that particular one. -_-
It also has the most votes.

skeletonbow: Ok, thanks for the feedback everyone, I must have missed the Dracula thing before and just got confused today then, sounds like a false alarm. :) Has anyone who's got the Alien Breed unbundle noticed their counter go up?
Yes. It did go up.

They can definitely mark it as in "In Progress" now. Though progress is a charitable word in this case.

:P
So where's the wishlist entry for unbundled games having different covers?

I'm still reorganizing my shelf after my 420 games decided to take a siesta and the similar covers aren't helping.

DyNaer: 'i'm asking because that's really strange ;

i still have older installers :

english one : setup_dracula_4_2.0.0.3.exe & french one : setup_dracula4_french_2.1.0.4.exe

(those removed)

never bothered to download others languages.

and the gamecard mentions : Languages: Audio and text: English, français. Text only: Deutsch, español, italiano

The only possiblity all languages are now in the same installer, BUT that's not clear at all , because they re-use the same gog build number as the french one.

Plus the file size with all combined languages is smaller or almost the same size for just one language installer....

There's an oddity for both games : Dracula 4 had seperate installers but not Dracula 5...... that's quite weird.

and those games were unbundled for quite some time now (that's not new)

avatar
mrkgnao: I'm not sure because I never downloaded the foreign language installers, but perhaps all the monolingual installers were actually multilingual ones preset to a specific language.
avatar
DyNaer: IF it was the case , what a waste of disk space....... i really hope there are not a lot games in this case....saving my collection is a real pain with my download speed :(

PS : the shelf report 253 MB ..... for dracula 4 installer
I can tell you a bit about this. Dracula 5 always was in fact multi language (including German - without GOG mentioning it). Depending on the language of the OS the according language was set. Dracula 4 however was missing German language which was why I contacted the devs and they delivered to GOG. GOG then made a seperate installer for the new language even though the game also was multi-language as long as you have all those file in the same folder (before the official update was released I found the additional files in the net and tried it myself). Both games normally are multi language and only the language of the OS determines which language is chosen. You might however delete specific files to force a language and afair the GOG version was made that way. I am downloading both games again now to check this again though.

..... that's a pretty weird solution how to make an installer (not the gog's ones)

it's like Sudeki.... however in this case when gog released the game, i got french voice overs during cutscenes and in-game it was in english .... that was pretty weird. Hopefully gog fixed the problem with a language selector.

yogsloth: Dracula 4 and 5 were always unbundled on my shelf, I thought...

And looking at the total # of games, it's the same, and the boxes on the shelf match the #...

[EDIT] Just read mrkgnao's post above.

Cognition all having the same cover is pretty bullcrap, though. Why do that?
second this - liked the covers as they were before

There were many games in the past which have chosen the language according to the language of the OS. Not a good way to say the least because often people have one OS language but want a different game language. As I told it is pretty easy with Dracula to fix this. Dracula 4 already is fixed because (afair) only the chosen language is installed. Dracula 5 however probably still is multi language but you only need to change the universal installer to language specific installer everytime only installing the needed files for the language. Dracula 5 just has finished downloading so I will check my theory.

Edit: I just checked both games.
Dracula 4 is NOT multi language it is depending on the installer which language is installed.
Dracula 5 is still multi language and should be devided into different installers. The relevant directorys in which the different languages are stored are:

\Dracula 5\Common\Fonts (ru=russian uses different font than en-fr-it-de-es-br-nl-sv)
\Dracula 5\FirstAidKit\Objects (in different language folders is one xml file describing objects)
\Dracula 5\Inventory\Objects (same as above)
\Dracula 5\Sounds\Dialogs (Different dialogue sound files per language folder - strangely still all in english except the french version)
\Dracula 5\TrophiesBrowser\Trophies (Trophy description in different languages per language folder)
\Dracula 5\Videos (different audio for the movies per language folder but they are all english except the french version)

With this knowing you can easy "build" different installers for the different languages like it has already been done with Dracula 4.

They are just really lazy and the catalogue is filled with that lack of passion for a good work.
Watch Ys I & II Chronicles: sold as a unique title, is splitted in the shelf and none of the 2 games have a legit cover (they have the same cover that is probably ripped by some artwork for the psp cover but they are totally out of the art style of the game, they could have choosen on of the pc cover that already exist).
