NOTE! CHANGED Jade Empire: Special Edition, file_size: 6.3 GB ***TO*** 6 GB
So there you have it :)

The big installer changes you've been seeing were basically changes made to the French side :) Most of our installers that already had a French version on site or are an all-in-one installer that included French now have the installation routine written in French :)

Since we all like lists, here's the list of all the games we have that include French and had their installers changed:

Let me know if you have any questions :)

Yes, two questions:

1) Since that link lists all GOG games that are available in French does that mean that the installers of all French games have changed?

2) Could we please get Jade Empire in any other language than French? ;-) No matter what language you select to download you will always get setup_jade_empire_french_2.1.0.8.exe. In other words, there seems to be a bug in the language selection right now.

1. So what happened to Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut?
2. Any news on Retro City Rampage DX?

1. Yes but there's no need to re-download your collection as that was the only change and does not affect the games at all.

2. Let me check on that, perhaps there is some weirdness going on.

1. French update and a re-working of the install files to take up less space AKA we can into better compression methods :O

2. No, sorry.

Jade Empire is fixed now and we have managed to corral the Frenched installer back into its proper place :) Please let me know via PM if you find any other rampaging French installers :) Thanks!

JudasIscariot: The explanation :)
Why not state this clearly from the beginning? "GOG is preparing to support multiple languages and thus, some installers are being routinely updated. Nothing to worry about". Instead, there are people moaning about bugs, the usual babble about Galaxy and what not. I thought GOG was trying to be more transparent? But then again, absolutely everything is sacrificed to this childish surprise effect.

If I could state as such, I would but since we have NDAs and all, I can't just go around saying "Hey guys, we have a French language version of our website being rolled out soon so that's why we're changing things with the installers".

As for bugs, please do send us a support ticket.

While I wouldn't say it so bluntly, I have to agree... really tired of the secrecy with stuff around here. I would assume GOG knows a month a head what there doing it that month, can't be that hard to post a "coming this month" announcement telling us what to expect for the month.

All of this last minute announcements is off putting, the more info given the better... just like Galaxy, GOG needs to be more up front on where it's at rather if it releases now or months from now. Keep us informed.

I'll assume you mean NDA's for GOG employees to not disclose GOG plans... but even so that still comes down to GOG the company not being forthcoming with info. I mean I can understand wanting to surprise GOG users every now it then, but we literally usually get nothing until it happens.

I would like to see GOG be more transparent and announce game releases and whatever else may be a happening in a particle month at the beginning of that month, instead of the last second. I would assume GOG knows what is going to happen in the beginning of each month, as far as release and such goes. I'll also assume there really isn't any NDA's on these old games.

I would also like to see GOG be more open about were Galaxy is... even perhaps doing a FAQ to get these questions we all have out in the open.

I know this isn't your decision, but perhaps you can pass this up to whoever is in charge of this stuff. Steam at-least does this [in-regards to upcoming game releases], and if you want to compete with Steam... GOG should too.

I agree with your view. The more transparency, the merrier.

I didn't know Steam did this (I only use GOG). Can you link to some examples from Steam? I'm curious to see how they do it.

I'll acknowledge that, of course, though I'd like to see the NDA specifying that a deal can't be disclosed at a point when the contracts were signed and the content delivered and uploaded, available for anybody. The official statement was just a few hours later.

And my point was that people erroneously saw the non-flagged games as bugs, so, nothing to report.

I believe Judas was referring to his NDA vis-a-vis GOG, which probably prevents him from revealing anything related to the company that is not public knowledge. The decision for transparency has to come from higher up.
