mrkgnao: Thank you. I needed to hear that. I never know if anybody is reading this. I shall persevere.

P.S. Most recent find: the "patched to version" information is gone from the game page for all games.

Rest assured, I find your updates pretty interesting and always read them. Much appreciate all your hard work, thanks! :-)
Could we please get some info about what was changed in Omerta?

That's just GOG's silly way of numbering their installers. It doesn't refer to the version provided by the developer. My last downloaded installer is still up to date and that download was on the 7th of July. Nothing has changed since then.

coffeecup: I was just skimming through my backup and had that in my mind after comparing my original discs with the GOG version, but I'll go through once more more thoroughly. Should not be an offensive, I originally had the Larry, Might & Magic and Wizardry games in my head that they had some missing stuff (PlaySpy, missing hint books and the manual from The Ultimate Wizardry Archives). To my delight, all is here :)

JudasIscariot: So no "missing content" alarm then? :)
I went through my collection and was comparing, a manual should accompany every game, rest like hint book or soundtrack is fair game and in my eyes not mandatory :)

These games do have these missing things in their original release:
Age of Wonders: missing manual
Age of Wonders 2 - The Wizard's Throne: missing manual
Age of Wonders 2 - Shadow Magic: missing manual
Brütal Legend: no soundtrack, missing manual
Crusaders of Might & Magic: missing manual
Darkstone: after release, there were some extra offical quests, tools and skins (and tools), see [1], [2], [3])
Deathtrap Dungeon: Audio tracks are missing from the original CD
Deponia 2: Chaos on Deponia: missing manual
Deponia 3: Goodbye Deponia: missing manual, missing soundtrack (there is an extra audio CD in the physical release)
Desperados 2: missing soundtrack (unsure, Desperados 1 has one)
Edna & Harvey: The Breakout: missing manual
Edna & Harvey: Harveys new eyes: missing manual
Gabriel Knight - Sins of the Fathers: missing graphic novel, missing hintbook (see below)
Gone Home: missing soundtrack and extras of the "collectors edition", see their webpage.
Gray Matter: missing manual, missing soundtrack, missing postcards, missing card game.
Jagged Alliance - Deadly Games: missing manual
Kings Quest 1,2,3: missing hintbooks
Kings Quest 4,5,6: missing hintbooks
Kings Quest 7,8: missing hintbook for 7, dunno if for 8 a sierra one exists
Leisure Suit Larry 7 - Love for Sail: maybe there is a sierra hintbook, if yes, it's not here
Mega Race 1+2: missing manuals
Might & Magic 8 - Day of the Destroyer: missing map
Moto Racer: missing soundtrack / audio tracks
Moto Racer 2: zero extras! at least manual please :)
Omikron - The Nomad Soul: maybe missing audio tracks (unsure)
Pandemonium: zero extras! missing manual + missing soundtrack / Audio tracks
Pandemonium 2: missing manual + missing soundtrack / audio tracks
Patrician 1+2: missing manual for Patrician 1, missing map for Patrician 2
Personal Nightmare: missing manual
Police Quest 1+2+3+4: missing hintbooks
Police Quest SWAT 1+2: missing manual for PQ-SWAT 2
Populous - The Beginning: missing audio track/soundtrack
Quest for Glory 1-5: missing hintbooks for 1-4, dunno if Sierra made one for 5
Realms of Arkania 1+2: missing overworld maps, soundtrack for 2 is not the real one ..., including the German manuals would be awesome.
Realms of Arkania 3: German manual would be awesome, soundtrack is not the real one ...
Rise of the Triad: missing manual
Screamer 2: missing manual
Silent Service 1+2: missing map for 1 (unsure)
Space Quest 1+2+3: missing hintbooks
Space Quest 4+5+6: missing hintbooks
The Book of Unwritten Tales: missing soundtrack, missing artbook, missing manual
The Book of Unwritten Tales - Critter Chronicles: missing soundtrack, missing artbook, missing manual
The Night of the Rabbit: missing soundtrack, missing manual, missing audiobook "Mauswald"
Theme Park: missing manual
Tiny and Big Grandpas Leftovers: missing soundtrack
Torins Passage: missing hintbook
Ultimate Body Blows: missing manual
Unreal Tournament 2004: the community bonus packs / maps [5] would be really neato
Wing Commander 5 - Prophecy: "Secret Operations"DLC is missing, see [6]

For the nearly every Sierra game there are official hintbooks available, see [4].

These games might have had some sort of printed instructions which are not included (yet), but due to their shareware nature, I'm not really sure:
Catacombs Pack, Secret Agent, Tyrian 2000 (original Tyrian as an extra would be neat)

It would be nice though, to provide for every game a box art picture for the windows explorer (folder.jpg) in a decent resolution (ie height 256 or 512 pixels).

Thank you. I'm well aware of the GOG installer numbering system but when I saw that person's post I jumped to the wrong conclusion and mistakenly thought there was suddenly a new version. If I had thought for a second I would have realized that it was the installer version and not a new game version number. I feel so foolish.
Anyway, thanks for setting me straight :-)

coffeecup: Wing Commander 5 - Prophecy: "Secret Operations"DLC is missing, see [6]
GOG's version does include Secret Ops, it's part of the base installer. I should know, I own it. :)

And the game card mentions:
"Includes Wing Commander 5: Prophecy and the expansion Wing Commander: Secret Ops."

Erm, this one isn't right ;

The game card title is : A New Beginning: Final Cut

The Realms of Arkania installers *should* have the manuals included so after you install them, you should have the manuals listed in your Start menu for the games :)

Well, I'm tryring that out.

I would really be happy if you manage to include the proposed extras for Darkstone, Unreal Tournament 2004 and Wing Commander V. I'm really sorry that I cannot provide some sort of download link for the extra campaign for the latter, but I think Electronic Arts should have them in their archives... and I'm sure you have to get permission to distribute them :)

Secret Ops for Wing Commander V is already included in our installer :)
Oh, I'm using the GOG installer mostly for legal backup reasons and I did not install every one... so I'm surprised :)
http://www.gog.com/forum/super_time_force_ultra/super_time_force_ultra_has_been_updated_to_versionn_102
Without reading through all 180 pages, it seems that most people posting here are more interested in exactly what was changed by a particular update, and while I can certainly understand that, I have a somewhat different request.

In the future, would it be possible to flag WHICH download was updated. For example, I'm not interested in exactly what a patch to a game engine does, but the fact that it was the game engine that was updated. Do I need to re-download the entire 6 GB game, or was the update to one of the 16kb sketches or game icons.

Not that I'm poo-poo'ing the extras. It's nice that GoG goes to the additional trouble to make them available... but the "Updated" flag only appears on the individual game, not what portion of the download was actually changed. It would save GoG on bandwidth if they were to flag the downloads themselves as updated, so that people can download only those items that were changed rather than having to re-download the entire package (game installer, manuals, soundtracks, HD Wallpaper, etc) just because there is currently no way to see exactly what aspect of the game was updated.

To use a recent example, in Two Worlds I, a few extras were added and some sketches moved. The extras are only 266 MB, but the game itself is 3.6 GB. Since only the title was flagged updated, how many people wasted 3.6 GB of bandwidth (theirs AND yours) downloading the game again because they had no way to know that only a minor change (and a minor download) was needed? For that matter, if the sketches had been the only thing changed - and they had been marked as updated - it would have been a 52MB download instead of having to download the full 3.86 GB because nobody knows what was changed without going onto the forums, posting a question, and waiting who-knows-how-long for an answer.

Please consider flagging the updates at the individual download level instead of at the title level, and leave threads like this open for people who want to know exactly what the updates do. I'm sure it's important to some people, but that's not really the information I'm looking for re: updates. If you can't flag on the individual download level, at least consider separate flags for updates to: 1) the game installer and 2) bonus content.

Toccatta: *snip*
The extras are a separate download unless it is added DLC or something like that. So they are not included in the main installer. If the installer wasn't changed and you use the GOG downloader it will check the GOG download folder for the file and does an integrity check before downloading anything. No change? No download!
