dtgreene: Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark has been updated to 1.4.1a.

Unfortunately, the changelog appears to be broken, doesn't list the most recent versions, and stops in the middle of a version's changelog.

mrkgnao: Yes. One of at least 18 games with such highly-corrupted changelogs (all having somewhere the "|" character). Reported to GOG on August 12, 2020.
Is the full changelog available anywhere, or at least a changelog for version 1.4.1a? (I want to know whether I should install it, or whether it would make balance changes that I might not want to have done in the middle of a game.)

The full changelog (not including 1.4.1a) is available on MaGog: http://www.an-ovel.com/downloads/chg/chg_1588524889.htm

A changelog for version 1.4.1a is not available anywhere that I know of (not even on Steam), which makes me wonder whether this could perhaps be a GOG/Galaxy-only fix (historically, GOG has been known to name Galaxy-only versions by appending the letter "a" to them).

Except that it's an offline installer, and a Linux offline installer, that has been updated to 1.4.1a.
avatar
finkleroy: The offline installer for Jazz Jackrabbit 2: The Secret Files still hasn't been updated. There isn't an offline installer for Mac or Linux, so that isn't the issue. The current version for Galaxy is 1.24 JJ2+ (5.7), Date Published: 2/9/2020, but the current offline installer is version 1.24HF. No changelog.
avatar
Wurzelkraft: If I'm not mistaken the update is "hidden" as an extra download, probably because it is a mod(?). Downloading the "Jazz Jackrabbit 2 With Jj2+" bonus yields a zip-archive with two files:
setup_jazz_jackrabbit_2_1.24_jj2_(5.7)_(40952).exe
setup_jazz_jackrabbit_2_1.24_jj2_(5.7)_(40952).exe.xml

Not sure what the xml is for...
The timestamp of both files are 2020-09-02 10:36, and gogdb detected this update.

The offline argument is not much of an argument, as there have been lots of updates to offline installers that were there just to support galaxy features (e.g. tens of versions ending with "cs" for "cloud saves"). But the Linux argument is probably a good point. If you're right, I guess we'll just have to wait for the changelog to get updated on Steam.

Yeah because today they finally recieved the patch files. So this whole shitshow was Voidpoint being slow as molasses. I hope this will not happen again when they'll release the expansion pack next year.

Interesting that the developers have sneakily tried to put the blame on GOG.

However, in the end it wasn't clear what the problem was. I wonder why a lot of developers have no problem with GOG, while with others it seems impossible to do anything in a decent time.

Some devs care and some don't give a shit. It's that simple.

Dwarrows
Update 1.4 - Pets (14 September 2020)

Hey everyone!

We have an exciting update for you all with some fun changes and new features! The main theme of this update: PETS!

NEW PET TRAINING MINI-GAME
As the many tutorial videos and guides have made clear, the original Pet Training game was tricky to explain and didn't quite achieve its purpose in the game, so we've completely overhauled it! This mini-game makeover follows the same principles of gaining the animal's Trust, but with a shiny new look and feel that's easier to learn and fun to play.

NEW PETS & BADGES
How is it even legal to have shipped this game without DOGS?! That's right, Dwarrows now has dogs and puppies, several breeds to choose from! We didn't want the dogs getting bored, so we thought we'd give them something to chase: Squirrels of course! These new pets carry with them the secret to keeping the interest of animals and gaining their trust.

PETS ACCESSORIES
Lastly in the realm of pets we have added pet accessories. Gone are the tragic days of not-being-able-to-put-a-monocle-on-a-bird. That sad era is over. Hats, glasses, moustaches! Lots of silly aesthetic items to give your pets personality and throw your crowns at. Find these items at your General Merchant in town.

IMPROVED CONTROLLER SUPPORT
This may not be for everyone, but it's an important part of the fun for those who prefer to use gamepads. We have done a reworking of our controller support and I think controller users will be pleased! A majority of our UI has been changed to treat gamepads as a first-class control scheme wherever possible, meaning it will no longer be treated like a mouse on menus that could support this change.

ENJOY!

We have also made a ton of little quality of life and bug fixes which, there is a lot of, so I'll leave you to the patch notes below if you want to read about it! Thank you as always for being our amazing supporters and players. We hope you like the new update and features.

Cheers, The Lithic Team

Release Notes

NEW
- NEW PET: Dogs and Puppies! Several varieties of dogs and puppies can now be found throughout the land :D
- NEW PET: Squirrels! Find and befriend a variety of these adorable little rodents to help you in your travels!
- New Badges: Intriguing and Trustworthy. These badges increase your starting interest and trust when charming new pets.
- New: Pet Accessories! Hats, glasses, and facial hair for your animals! Fashion Accessories for pets are now sold at the Merchant in the Dusken Keep. Merchant inventory is refreshed daily (as in: real-life time).
- New: Pet Charming mini-game. We've reworked the whole mini-game to be a lot more intuitive and, hopefully, fun! (*more details below).
- New: PROPER GAMEPAD SUPPORT in menus! Gamepad navigation no longer behaves as a mouse and instead snaps to buttons and important UI elements.

NEW PET TAMING MINI-GAME
- Overhauled the Pet Taming mini-game. The game has been reworked to be simpler to learn and balanced to be faster paced.
- Changed Timed Hits during pet taming minigame into a separate stage of the minigame. You'll now be able to take your time and time your 'hits' more accurately.
- Pet taming Timed Hits are now affected by the game speed option.
- Fixed 'Give Item' during pet taming to properly work with timed hits.
- Added a new celebration/information screen when a pet has been charmed.

CHANGES AND IMPROVEMENTS
- Smashable pots will now respawn when loading a game. Breaking things is fun, why not keep them around? (Bonus: Saves memory and slightly improves save/load speeds).
- Improved smashable pots to better handle explosions - and by better handle I mean they break more reliably and satisfyingly.
- Added hotkeys for Structure design table slots. Designing should require less back-and-forth mouse movement.
- Reduced the number of recycled auto-save games from 20 to 10 (this will not delete existing auto-save games).
- New look to the Compass - easier to read with cleaner font

PERFORMANCE
- Fixed a bug that would cause severe slowdowns when the exit confirmation prompt was visible.
- Reduced amount of data being saved, reducing how long it takes to save and how much harddrive space is needed.
- Significantly improved performance for some older hardware. In testing, a computer with an average of 15fps now averages 32fps. Note: This is not likely to be a noticeable improvement for modern hardware.

FIXES
- Fixed an issue where clicking 'yes' on a confirmation prompt could complete the action more than once (eg. Agreeing to Discard an item, could accidentally discard 3 of that same item).
- Fixed memory leak caused by orphaned pet badges when equipping pets.
- Disabled Gravity on smashable pots. This fixes an issue where Smashable urns in dungeons would sometimes be thrown around when entering the level.
- Fixed the mini-boss music sometimes not going away after leaving the scarecrow's hilltop near Breezy River Farm

SMALL THINGS
- Fixed all bird pets from unlocking the Bluebird only achievement.
- Fixed typo in wood axe upgrade ('tress' instead of 'trees').
- Renamed some actions in Pet Taming.
- Fixed several gamepad issues that would cause the game and UI to suddenly revert to the mouse and keyboard mode.
- Fixed the "Back" button on the map to be above the border.
- Added outline to some fonts to make them easier to read.
- Fixed several badge icons looking far too bright.
Standalone installers updated 15 September 2020:
- Windows: Win64_v1.3 ⇒ Win64_v1.4;
- Linux: L64_v1.3 ⇒ L64_v1.4_GoG;
- Mac: macOS64_v1.3 ⇒ Mac64_v1.4.

Northgard

Updated to 2.3.1.18858 (Windows & Mac)

(Galaxy & Offline Installer)

Brundr & Kaelinn, Clan of the Lynx DLC available now.

Changelog from Steam:
General Changes

[NEW] Korean language is now available on Northgard.
[NEW] Server zone for Asia.
[NEW] Northgard is now compatible with Asus Aura keyboard. Aura provides a nearly endless spectrum of colors, patterns and the ability to link lighting to Northgard in-game activity.
[NEW] New music ‘Angst Of The Unlighted’ has been added to the game.
[NEW] Sound design for Militia.

User Interface

[NEW] Cooldown icon has been added above Ancient Graveyard.
[NEW] Option menu has been improved.
[BUGFIX] In “Create new game’ menu, “Advanced options” has been corrected. These options were reseted after each new game.
[BUGFIX] Clicking on a unit’s skill no longer removes the health bar.

Lifebar

Lifebar UI has been improved. Getting an affect with a lifebar icon (ex: BloodBath) forces the display of the lifebar for the duration of the affect.

[BUGFIX] Lifebar icons no longer appear above the blizzard effect.

Gameplay Changes

Mimirsbrunn Rework

- Mimirsbrunn is no longer a "consumable": if a player has already recovered his tech, another player can now take the tile back and seek his own tech.
- A player must own Mimirsbrunn if he wants to benefit from the tech he has chosen. If he loses Mimirsbrunn, he must take it back to benefit from the effect.
- Each player can choose their own tech, the tech is not related to Mimirsbrunn.
- Mimirsbrunn button in the lore tree has been moved.

JORMUNR RELIC

- [NEW] 5 colonized zones gives +1 ⇒ +2 lore production.

- [REWORK] Ranged units no longer try to find a place at max range of their targets (especially Watch Towers) if they are already placed and in range. In general, groups of ranged units should try to place themselves a bit smarter around the field.
- [REWORK] Attack speed and animation-based damage calculations have been cleaned up and rewritten to standardize the results for all cases.

These changes affect:

- Slows: Different slows no longer stack, only the strongest current slow is taken into account and correctly affects the target's DPS.
- Ranged units: Had a different way to calculate their attacks' damages, which resulted in DPS changes with attack speed.

- [REWORK] Ranged units' delay between chained attacks was reduced and correctly taken into account for damage calculations
These changes should allow ranged units to attack faster but only once they started shooting.
It also resolved an issue that highly reduced the DPS of ranged attacks (by ~25%), this should be fixed so expect Axe throwers and Trackers to be as deadly from afar as they are in melee range.

- [NEW] Right-clicking on an allied unit should move the units to the clicked position and not also that allied unit you clicked on.
- [NEW] Wolves will no longer attack the surroundings when their zone is being invaded.
- [NEW] Forging an object (ex: relic) while transferring the zone with the forge to an ally, no longer reset progress nor remove resources involved.

Bugfixing

- Horse 200 fame bonus gave 5% damage bonus to warriors and axes throwers. This was not intended and it has been corrected.
- Food trade technology : Food trade now increases your Trade Routes Kröwns income by 70% on tiles with a natural food source as intended.
- Trade iron to 0 and getting "Jord's blessing" now gives 10 iron instead of 9.
- Magni’s influence from the dragon's essence bar now shows the correct bonus.
- Dragon’s ‘Capture’ tech : Enslaved Myrkalfar count as +3 ⇒ 2 thralls.
- Vegvisir can no longer be generated on “Imported Knowledge” battle.
- Affects don't get initialized nor completely removed when reloading a game during ongoing affects.
- Fisherman tool has been corrected. In a very specific case, it was not properly working.
- AI Units no longer attack abandoned towers while they could be captured.
- Fixed instant scout injury / Death. Happening when you had Vedrfolnir revealing many tiles before you sent the scout out.
- Selection of friendly units to heal from the healer hut now works correctly.
- Villagers no longer request more houses when a house finishes building.
- A villager turned into a scout is no longer in “No work” (for 2 seconds) after his transformation.
- During the victory dance, some villagers were in “no work” ; This is no longer the case.
- Fixed several crashing issues in multiplayer.

Conquest

- AI in the conquest battle “Beyond the sea” has been fixed.
- Militia can now appear in “Surrounded” conquest mission.
- It is no longer possible to produce krowns in battle conquest ‘Greed's price’ with Stag clan and its tech 'the Value of Great Deeds'.
- Special rule “The Eldhrumnir relic costs no Iron , takes half the time to forge and doesn’t count as a build relic” in battle ‘Race to Yggrasil’.

Campaign

- +40 lore from stag’s starting bonus are now correctly given.
- In chapter 3, skipping through the dialogue won’t block Brand and his warriors anymore.General Changes
