Oh, sorry, I did not know that - never used Linux.

This update flood is getting crazy and it's hard to keep track of the updates manually. As you generate your reports with a script would it be possible to add some unique info to the game names which could be parsed, like the game card name or even better the game directory which the downloader uses (but I'm not sure if you have the latter information available)? If you don't want to change the reports visually you maybe could hide that info in an URL tag.

To better illustrate what I mean with the names two examples:

Game title: F-117A Nighthawk Stealth Fighter 2.0
Game card: f117a_nighthawk_stealth_fighter_20
Download directory: f117a_nighthawk_stealth_fighter_20 (same as the game card as the game is not unbundled)

Game title: Forgotten Realms - The Archives - Collection One, Eye of the Beholder
Game card: forgotten_realms_the_archives_collection_one
Download directory: eye_of_the_beholder (differs from the game card as the game is unbundled)

Unfortunately the game title itself is not easy to use in a script. MaGog writes a lot of game titles (slightly) different than GOG does, thanks to the inconsistencies and the frequent title changes on GOG, which makes it hard to use the title to identify a game.

MaGog doesn't store the actual game card name, but the actual game card name PLUS some tags, or some naming corrections (made by mrkgnao, I assume). On the positive side, it does store everything else you mentioned. So yeah, I could do that. I think the best option would be to post the download link for any new/updated file, inside a URL tag as you suggested so as not to clutter the ouput too much.

The only drawback I can see is that the output of my script will increase significantly, leading to a larger number of posts required to report everything. But ever since I adopted my loyal little helper that's not a major problem anymore, so I'll try to add the new info by tomorrow (tonight I'm not sure if I'll be able to).

Everything which is more reliable to parse and match than a game title is fine for me.

Ah, I did not think of that size limit for the posts. For me it already would be enough when you only would add links to the games in the game list on top of your first post, so that I can identify the games which have changed. That would not increase the post by so much. And it only would increase the first post of a batch.
But do what fits best for you. And take your time, there's no need to hurry. I'm 4 days behind. Seeing the list of updated games within these 4 days I'm thinking about to run a full library update anyway...
