Prolific Pocketmonster v8 9.26.2016 (26 September 2016)
Today’s patch adds 125+ new weapon, armor, and shield upgrades and improvements to inspecting and activating upgrades. They’ll be some fixing and polishing of the upgrades as we go and a few more added before launch - let us know what you think!
Gear
Heavy Weapon attacks now destroy a portion of enemy armor with each hit vs. just piercing it. This allows Heavy Weapons to provide better support if most of the team is dealing physical damage or the enemy has high Armor and Resistances to overcome.
By popular demand, equipped gear can now be unequipped without needing a replacement item. This should make swapping items between characters more convenient. Default gear will be equipped in place of the unequipped item. Default gear has no value, cannot be enhanced, and is destroyed when replaced with an actual item.
Also by popular demand, items with upgrades can now be inspected using Shift-click to display the details of their upgrades without visiting the upgrade station.
Upgrades
All generated weapons now deal Physical damage by default. Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary weapons have gained upgrades that convert the damage to an elemental type and further modify the weapon based on rarity.
Added 32 class upgrades to weapons that activate special buffs in combat when wielded by the correct class. Upgrades come in Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary flavors.
After a lengthy legal battle, Siyama has secured the patents to their Corrosive, Burning, Chilling and Thundering weapon upgrades. These upgrades will only appear on authorized Siyama weaponry in the future.
Items generated prior to today’s patch may have inconsistent or odd combinations of upgrades as older / placeholder upgrades will be replaced with a fallback upgrade. The alternative was making save files from previous versions incompatible. And that would suck.
Soldier
Weapon Specialist now correctly resets its cooldown when dealing a killing blow.
Hacker
Fixed an issue with the Hacker Chrome Slinger and Burning Chrome Slinger that could cause a save to fail to load. Older saves containing these items should now load correctly.
UI
Fixed scrollbar in Wire Terminal misbehaving - thanks Noel!
Items with upgrades can now be Shift-clicked to view the upgrade details at any time.
The interface of the Omni Upgrade Station in the shop has been improved.
Misc Fixes
The Voidonomicon accessory chance to drive the Void Psyker insane no longer increases with each use (though it may still drive you insane).
Fixed doors into space that could spawn in a lab map.
It is no longer possible to glitch the Launch Mission button with no mission selected.
Fixed cases where the Arial font would not display (Combat Log, Lexicon flavor text, etc)
Fixed Void Energy and Malfunction combat widgets not displaying correctly.
Minor text fixes.

Gear

- Decreased the volume of a couple of sound effects ("reflecting knife", and the "wall moving" sound).
- Fixed an issue some monitor setups had related to fullscreen only displaying black screen and audio.

- Also by popular demand, items with upgrades can now be inspected using Shift-click to display the details of their upgrades without visiting the upgrade station.
Upgrades
- All generated weapons now deal Physical damage by default. Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary weapons have gained upgrades that convert the damage to an elemental type and further modify the weapon based on rarity.
- Added 32 class upgrades to weapons that activate special buffs in combat when wielded by the correct class. Upgrades come in Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary flavors.
- After a lengthy legal battle, Siyama has secured the patents to their Corrosive, Burning, Chilling and Thundering weapon upgrades. These upgrades will only appear on authorized Siyama weaponry in the future.
- Items generated prior to today’s patch may have inconsistent or odd combinations of upgrades as older / placeholder upgrades will be replaced with a fallback upgrade. The alternative was making save files from previous versions incompatible. And that would suck.
Soldier
- Weapon Specialist now correctly resets its cooldown when dealing a killing blow.
Hacker
- Fixed an issue with the Hacker Chrome Slinger and Burning Chrome Slinger that could cause a save to fail to load. Older saves containing these items should now load correctly.
UI
- Fixed scrollbar in Wire Terminal misbehaving - thanks Noel!
- Items with upgrades can now be Shift-clicked to view the upgrade details at any time.
- The interface of the Omni Upgrade Station in the shop has been improved.
Misc Fixes
- The Voidonomicon accessory chance to drive the Void Psyker insane no longer increases with each use (though it may still drive you insane).
- Fixed doors into space that could spawn in a lab map.
- It is no longer possible to glitch the Launch Mission button with no mission selected.
- Fixed cases where the Arial font would not display (Combat Log, Lexicon flavor text, etc)
- Fixed Void Energy and Malfunction combat widgets not displaying correctly.

Epic staff upgrades: You can upgrade a law, chaos or neutral staff for now (other staff upgrades will be added later). The upgrade is purely visual and you can customise the appearance. [*]Upgrades staffs have additional special effects when wielded.
Epic gear upgrades: There is an epic gear upgrade for any of your body gear. This is a purely visual upgrade. You can customise the appearance.
Chaos Mode battles added as an option for duels.
Ruins special objectives - When you fight a wizard lord in ruins you must collect the gold from chests before you slay the enemy. The amount of gold you can get from ruins is boosted.
You can set up email notification for asynchronous games.
New currency - Realm Karma. You earn Realm Karma for being an ally or invader, or for defeating invaders, and for players completing realms you have designed. Spend Realm Karma on social rank progression or Forge Crystals
Forge Crystals can now be purchased with Gold or Realm Karma.
You get a reward of 100 Gold and 1 Forge Crystal with each level increase
Social rank progression is now based on wizard level - 25 for Lord, 50 for King, 100 for - Demigod and 200 for God. Alternatively Realm Karma can be used to directly purchase the next social rank.
There is a new system for joining realm battles as an ally or invader. Opportunities for invasion or allying now appear as buttons on the right of the screen when you are outside a realm. The game mode (law/chaos) and the rewards are identified.

You can now see if your ally's creatures are real or illusion via the tooltip, just like you can with your own creatures.
There is now a confirmation dialog when dismounting a wizard.
Baculum Obligo talisman now ensures all spells matching staff start in hand (subject to hand-size constraint, and after Cantio Obligo), rather than just 3 spells.
Cantio Compositus talisman now adds one new random spell to deck before shuffle and redraw; activation cost increased.
Bellivent talisman (retreat to void ranged attack) now works while mounted, and is always successful.
Bestiae Secutus talisman no longer gives a range-bonus to Crystal Wall (Range is still boosted by Cantio Secutus).

- The results from the public preview are looking pretty good, so today we're moving the newest version of the game from our Public Preview out to everyone.
- Most players will see only good things with this patch. But we have noticed a rare occurance on some systems with integrated graphics - textures may get blurrier. This is the result of being safer about allocating texture memory, and the graphic system not reporting correctly. We’ll continue to investigate this.
- Mac Kickstarter Backers on the Mac beta will see some changes - mostly good, some bad. Generally, the Mac performance has improved dramatically. Almost everyone should notice that. The bad news is that you may crash, or only see a black screen at startup. There are two steps to fix this. The first is to upgrade to MacOS Sierra which has fixes that Obduction requires. The second is to remove old shader cache files. Here are the steps to delete the old files:
- Go to the Finder (usually the first thing in your dock)
- Hold down shift + command + g
- Type (or copy and paste) this... ~/Library/Application Support/Epic/Obduction/Saved
- Click Go or push return
- Delete two files... ByteCodeCache.ushadercode and DrawCache.ushadercache
- (If you don’t see those files then you did something wrong, or you don’t have Obduction installed.)

The Windows Donwloader links for Smugglers V and Smugglers V: Invasion are not working.
