It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Tauto: 404 page when signing out,now Gog is holding me as a prisoner. But I will bust out!
Tried half a dozen times but..............I will bust out.I'll just wait until tomorrow, nigh nigh.
Just go into your browser preferences and delete the cookies from GOG. Much easier than fighting with GOG's logout system.

I do that on a weekly bases and don't wish to do it daily. They let me out on parole so it's all good, thanks.
I seem to be having several new names in my chat that I don't think I ever chatted with, and they show up above the user I actually had a new message from. What's that about? (Still want to just be able to delete names from chat list!)

Might not be intentional, perhaps they clicked the link on this post.

Oh, so somebody merely opening a chat adds them to the potential recipient's list as well, even if nothing's actually sent? That's messed up.

From what I've read here - yeah, I guess.

It's been like this from the very moment the NAS was rolled out, and that was more than 2yrs ago. It's been brought up several times in the relevant threads, as well as in the "We're listening to you feedback" one, as making no sense and needing to be changed. More so as there's a non-disclosed roof to the total number of users in one's chat contacts list, and as soon as it's reached, every new addition kicks off one of the existing ones. Which may well be somebody one would like to keep, and when wanting to chat with the kicked off user again, one has to go find a post of theirs to add them back to their list - fun, isn't it?
Given GOG's no response/comment whatsoever these past 2yrs; it'd seem that GOG thinks it's a great feature that nobody appreciates but them, thus changing it isn't even on their To Do list. That, or they don't quite know how to change it.

Either way, it's frustrating, and certainly the opposite of enhancing the user experience.

HypersomniacLive:
Ah. Typical GOG then, for the past few years at least.
(Thought I read somewhere that the limit was 200?)

It is 200. I can confirm this from the time when I was doing the community giveaway.
When I block a user in chat I get this message:

"You have blocked this user. %clickStart%Unblock%clickEnd%."

Not that I have much hope, but is there a way to remove a user from the contact list in your chat window?

Not natively with Gog, but you can using my script.

It doesn't stop them taking up the 200 user limit though.

I already use that function, at least I've tried. I'm probably too stupid to get the format right. I use ['user1','user2'], but the users still appear in my contact list. I've also tried quotation marks and even backticks, but nothing worked.

Yes, it does not solve the problem. That's why I would prefer to remove the contacts and not only hide them. But probably only GOG could provide such a function.

Huh.... now that I think about it Hyper reported issues with that as well a while back but I've never got around to looking into it. (It should actually be ", I believe I have written it wrongly in the instructions).

I'm not sure... if I get a chance I can look into it. I assume the list is server side, but there may be a url to add and remove people.
Though I imagine the server list is actually much larger and it's the browser side code that truncates it, which I might be able to change instead.

I've got to do a fairly major rework of some stuff for the script soon so I'll look into it.

No need to spend a lot of time on that, there are probably other things which are more essential. At least I am not that close to the limit that it has a high priority for me. It would be nice though, when the option to hide contacts would work again, as I think I already had it working at some point.
