HypersomniacLive: Anyone else got all their notifications wiped clean from their Account button on the nav-bar? I had to visit the front page for them to show.
avatar
mrkgnao: Do you mean that the red game update notification number is visible when you are on the home page, but not when you are on the account page?
I mean that after logging in and before visiting the front page, no notifications whatsoever are visible.

I log on using the forum General Discussion page. No notifications are shown (1st attached screenshot) - notice how I do have a reply in this thread. I open my game collection on another tab, still no notifications (2nd attached screenshot). I then open the front page, notifications show up next to each category, but no total next to Account (3rd attached screenshot).
If I now refresh the forum page or open any account page, all notifications are visible.

Not sure if new ones require another visit to the front page to show.

Regarding the total - it almost never counts Friends invites and Chat messages for me since the beginning, and when it does it seems to happen completely randomly.

Regarding the issues mentioned by and [url=https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_what_did_just_break_thread/post608]ElTerprise, I had not noticed them - I'm using ChrisSD's script GOG legacy fixes section that restores the search functionality on the forum pages, and whenever I open the game catalogue I always do so on a separate tab.
I agree that it's a big bug that GOG should fix, but I guess it would require them to make the forum (more) compatible with the rest of the site, which is very very low on their TO DO list, as has been repeatedly stated.

I understand now. I don't see any of this weird behaviour, probably because I miss the primary trigger for it all ("after logging in").

And this reply of yours just confirmed that new notifications don't show when refreshing the forum page, unless visiting one of the revamped pages, like the Wishlist one.

EDIT: And now it won't go away even though I opened the thread and replied, guess I have to visit a revamped page for the system to acknowledge it.

Another thing I just noticed regarding the Wishlist page - if one wishlists a game, then removes it from within their Wishlist page, the counter of wishlisted items updates immediately, but the game is still listed and requires a page refresh to be visually removed.

Well, the wishlist is a barrel of laughs.

If you look at mine (public), you'll see it supposedly contains 13 items, but only 12 are listed. The missing one is Armello, which is indeed wishlisted (marked as such on the game page, identified as such if using "Get From GOG" on MaGog), but nothing I do makes it appear on that page.

Also, I sorted my wishlist by title, but I believe when others look at it, it is sorted by date added.

Same here with Armello and Worlds of Magic, and removing and re-adding them does nth.

And you're right, the "by date added" order seems to be the default one for some reason. I can change it for anyone's wishlist I'm viewing, but the next time I open it it's back to "by date added". Kind of how one's own game collection reverts back to "Grid" if one clears their cookies.

....i sorted them by title and when i open again my whishlist (after closing the browser (cookies are cleared)) ; it's still sorted by title...

Your wishlist, yes. But what about for other people's wishlists you are viewing, e.g. mine?

Scrambled, both you and DyNaer when I open them. At a guess they seem to be sorted by when you added the game to your wishlist, starting with the most recent. I say this because they seem to follow a general pattern that parallels order of release/announcement, with other titles scattered among them.

Indeed sorted by "Date Added" (i.e. the date one added the game to one's wishlist), as noted in the top right corner.

Sorry I missed that. Apologies for trying to help.

No need to apologise. Help is always appreciated.

BTW, in case you haven't noticed my post here, Trine 3 is gone from your wishlist (or perhaps you already bought it).

Not bought yet, so it's a victim of the changing ID gremlin in GOG's machinery. I've added it back on, will assume it stays though release, unless they reclass it again.

ahh , i missed this part ;)

unfortunatly, yes you're right..... :(

For some reason "Topics I've participated in" doesn't allow loading more than 5 topics now. That's pretty annoying.

What's more odd is that The Witcher 3 preorder game page in the store that contained "preorder" in the URL is still the URL for the post-release game and seems they aren't planning on changing that. Yay for consistency. :)
