HypersomniacLive: Sucks doesn't begin to describe it, it really makes me not wanting to purchase anything.

As for notifications - I get the gear, but other than that it's an unreliable mess, but what else is new?

EDIT: And they're restored now.
Yes. i got a notification for that :)....hmm would be FUBAR more fiiting? But it's understandable. Checking every game...come on GOG....

Tarnicus: That depends on what you mean by "sending or receiving messages". I've had new messages vanish (test by copying chat history with a friend) and old chat histories completely vanish.
I'm translating stuff for an indie developer and he suddenly stopped replying about month ago. I see that he is online relatively often, so either he isn't seeing messages notifications (but it's hard to believe he hasn't checked the chat in almost one month) or he isn't receiving my messages anymore. Or I am not getting his replies.
The frontal page is showing some mistakes in the games deals. For example, Majesty 2 is announced for Win+Mac+Linux, but is only for Windows and the opposite for the Democracy 3 DLC's.

Do you see them online on the site (forum) or on your contacts list in your chat?

Usually I don't check the friend list, but I recall him being shown online on both. Does it matter?

Not talking about your friends' list, but your chat contacts list - unless you have your chat set to friends only.

And yes, it does. The online status on your chat page is also triggered by Galaxy, which means that someone may be on Galaxy or just have it run in the background while they're not on the site. If they're on your friends' list, they should be receiving chat notifications even on Galaxy, but if they're not actively using it they won't get wind of them - from what I've read, new messages don't generate a pop-up or something that attracts one's attention.

Also, keep in mind, that if it's been a long time since you last sent them a message and they have received other messages since then, yours will be pushed down the queue, and with the constant jumping around of contacts and the washed out grey box used for them it's not that hard to miss it.
Another case is that chat notifications are not working properly for them (mine are hit and miss most of the time), so they may not have gotten one in the first place, and if you have fallen down the queue they may not think of checking for one.

There are quite a few cases to explain the situation before the "they don't reply to me" one.

I often see him online in my chat contacts, and yes, he's on my friend list. He's also aware there are problems with galaxy and the chat. Quote from one of his last messages (may 11):

"So something with the GOG galaxy client change seems to have eaten my records in GOG of your last two messages, but luckily email has them archived."

I replied the same day and he got back to me a couple of days later, as always. After that, radio silence. Sure, it's possible that he hasn't noticed any of my next four messages, but given the context (the translation is almost done and I was supposed to send him the updated files) I find it unlikely.
According to some, rep is dead. According to me, it's just plain broken. It seems that solving a question thread might not necessarily net only 5 points. The latest question thread I solved made the rep jump by 101 points. O_O

It's a special reward for solving the most difficult problem ever seen on GOG.

Sorry, but the site is still in beta condition. :P

It isn't "beta condition", it's part of the "GOG experience"!

The whole site is designed as a huge and never-ending RPG. You have to complete quests and difficult puzzles just to achieve some easy stuff. And in the end you get rewarded with the GOGbear.

... so all your progress gets erased and you have to start again. Sigh...

So GOG is a roguelike?
But there are unlockables, right?

Yeah sure, but here the unlockables don't help you. Regional pricing, regional lock, unbundling, etc. Next is DRM :P

Always be careful. Permadeath is just one step away.
