skeletonbow: I wasn't complaining about that, nor pointing it out as a problem. I didn't realize it was Barefoot providing the feature, but it's unrelated information to the problem. I can reproduce the problem with Barefoot Essentials completely disabled as well.
I did try to give it as a teasing reply, though I have to remember that written posts don't convey tone that well, not to mention that I'm not as funny as I think I am. So apologies if my post came as too condescending, not my intent.

Johny.: But why use userscripts? Just get yourself happy with a colorful surprise by adding below as a bookmarklet (bookmark with below as an address) to your browser and using it!
avatar
Johny.: javascript:(function(){function d(){b=b>355?0:b+5,a.style.backgroundColor='hsl('+b+',100%,35%)',c(d)}var a=document.querySelector('[href]>div'),b=0,c=requestAnimationFrame;c(d)})()
Do I understand it correctly that this is supposed to expand the "Read more" sections on a game card as the referred user style does?

It seems to do nothing for me. Neither as a Bookmarklet nor when I paste it into the address bar. When I run it in the JavaScript console it returns "undefined".

avatar
mrkgnao: Oooh. That's Nice!!!
Probably not intended for HypersomniacLive's poor eyes, but I like it!
Judging from that comment and seeing backgroundColor in the function I assume the effect of it shouldn't easily be overlooked, right?

It has nothing to do with the "Read More". It affects the GOG.com logo in the top left corner. And it's hardly missable, if it works (worked for me as a bookmark in FF).

Oh, I see it. :)

At least I know now what kind of programming style on GOGs pages eats up all my CPU power. :P

HypersomniacLive: Nice job. I had noticed a few times that the total number of pages stays at 245, but didn't go to the last page to check what it actually means.
Looks somebody thought that the page counter is stored in variable which is only 8 Bits wide ("Byte", "unsigned short int" or what you call it) and subtracted 10 for the maximum for a good measure...

IMHO they should obtain a tried and true message board software, write a converter to import the users and messages (at least the users...) and call it a day. In light of insisting on writing a godawful Witcher 3 patch delivery system from scratch (also called "Galaxy client") instead of building on top of Desurium (open source variant of the Desura client) I don't expect a migration of the forum to something like myBB, Invision Power Board or vBulletin.

Unlikely. If you set the number of topics per forum page to 15, you get 815 pages.

My guess is that GOG limited the displayable threads to those of the last 13 months, give or take a day or two.

Hehe, no no... I didn't take it that way either. Was just clarifying my side of things and it was reasonable to point out Barefoot as I hadn't considered that, although I do usually think of such things when problems arise. :)

mrkgnao: Forum threads that haven't changed since the beginning of January 2015 seem to be disappearing.

Depending on one's setting for "Topics per forum page" (15, 30 or 50) and on one's number of favourites, the oldest unchanged threads one can see on very last page of the "General discussion" forum date from ~16-20 January 2015. Earlier threads (unchanged since ~1-15 January 2015) cannot be seen. At least I can't see them.

[...]
Something funny is going on with this. Yesterday afternoon (my time), I could only see threads from Jan 20, 2015 and later. About 12hrs later, this changed and threads from Jan 18, 2015 and later were visible. Today, this changed again to Jan 19, 2015.
Yet the total number of pages remained unchanged.

Did you submit a support ticket for this?

Thought the standard reply to making them aware of any issue by any other means was "submit a ticket"...

No, Johny.'s good.
He said he'll ask somebody to check it.

Another thing. A similar bug affects the foreign language forums.
- I can't see posts before May 2015 in the German forum (began in Feb 2015)
- I can't see posts before June 2015 in the French forum (began in Nov 2014)
- I can't see posts before August 2015 in the Russian forum (began in Apr 2015)

Only the general archived looks OK.

P.S. I hate to think that the game-specific forums might also suffer from this...

Doesn't look encouraging.

Regarding the General Discussion forum - right now, I get 246 pages, and the last visible thread is dated Jan 16, 2015 (making this a link, to see if it'll still be accessible in case this changes again).
But I checked right before I logged in, and I had 817 pages with the last visible thread being Jan, 20 2015 (this one).

I wondered about this, but don't dare check.

I can't see that first thread on mine, but the link works. Just typing the page numbers in doesn't do anything.
I currently get 409 pages with the 18th being the earliest date.
Very odd...

It starts to look like the cut-off date is related to one's threads/page setting.

What's your setting?
