I gave up smoking this new year, I tried patches, and cold turkey, but it was too much for me.

So I tried one of these e-cigs, one you put juice into, it's great I get my nicotine without all that shite going into my lungs.

I feel 1000% better now, not caughing my guts up in the morning, does anyone else vape on here.

what juices do you use, and ideas on mixing.

all the best

[edit] sorry if this thread seems like spam, it's not, just intrested if others are giving up smoking

I've been doing for about a month now.

Took my buddy out for dinner and he bought me a Kanger Evod pen. I had that and one pack of Players (Canuck smokes) with me for a trip and when I finished the pack I just vaped instead. Did not buy another pack after.

Upside:

Haven't bought a pack in a month and only had 2 cigarettes when my E- pen battery died.

I find that I'm not feeling sick in the stomach like with smokes and I can last longer in the gym.

Estimate saving in total for the month 110 -130 bucks. That's including the juice and spare tanks I got.

The juice costs less than a pack of smokes and lasts for about 1-2 months depending how much you vape.

Does not stink up my breath or clothes. The wife likes this aspect.

Wide variety of flavors and nicotine strengths. I use 18mg.

Downsides:

Its a steep learning curb and maintaining the damn things is like working on a damn car.

You have to keep replacing certain parts (coils). 8.50 for a pack of five. Should last a few weeks but it is inconsistent for me so far.

Only 9 years on the market so long term effects have not been studied. It however looks very promising from a harm reductive stance.
^ all in all it cant be worse for your health then actual cigarettes right ?

Nothing so far indicates as much and one Medical Journal I read stated that the risks are "lower by an order of magnitude".

Though maybe in 20 years we suddenly sprout a third leg so who knows.

Do you smoke Mr. Katt?
Well… maybe. But at least you aren't killing everyone else with second hand smoke!
I haven't smoked a single cigarette for about a year and a half. I began vaping around autumn of 2013. The smell of cigarette smoke disgusts me today and I'm having a really hard time even being in the same space with a smoker (say, a car for example). If I would run out of juices before the next shipment, I would rather choose to not smoke at all than smoke regular cigarettes during the waiting period.

Flavors: I like to try different kinds - currently I've got Grape, Sailor's Punch, Rhubarb & Custard and a gener(ic/al) Vape flavor I haven't opened up yet. My favorites are berry flavors, especially cloudberry. GF vapes nothing but this juice called "The Sherlock" (a generic flavor). Her e-cig is "pro-tier", don't know the name of the brand but it gives out a really good amount of vapors. Mine is still some basic eGo thingy usually sold in starter kits. Nothing fancy and only gives out so much vapors, but on the upside it only cost like 20 eur or something like that. It gets the job done though and made me quit regular smokes, so I'm happy.
Buy a desktop vape and switch to cannabis.

no
i have family members who smoke
might try to talk them in to e- cigs
Technological innovation!

Lower cost, lower risks, larger market potential. Of course I already heard of moral crusaders that want vaping banned... given the tax revenues from cig sales that would go away, I fully expect governments will act in their best interests, never mind the public interest.

Where I live they banned smoking indoors (pubs, restaurants, public buildings, workplaces) years ago. Recently they banned smoking on patios of restaurants and bars as well as soccer fields and playgrounds. They stated that smoking must be done off property or not within 10-20 feet of an entrance.

They included vaping with new law as well. Despite the fact that it is vapor and not actual smoke. They just lumped it in. A lot of people stared vaping because most establishments let them as it was not technically smoking.

I foresee some attempts of forcing a tax from the government if tobacco sales are hurt (Canadian Gov takes in shitloads of revenue from tobacco and liquor sales).

I use a local mix from a shop downtown. He only sells it in store. Some are meh and others total winners. I have not yet tried another brand.

I hear great things about Halo brand.

My setup is rather simple. Just a Kanger brand Evod. Good quality, though the battery runs out damn quick. I charge it through a usb dongle.

I really need to try to move to one of these E-Cigs. im a little odd though, I can just quit, but I like smoking, I enjoy it and also use it as a way to take 5 mins out and just relax.

On the positive side i did give up the pre-made ones and started rolling my own (with a filter) so some of the shite thats in t is taken out.
Been vaping since January last year, don't regret it . I used different flavors from a company named Liqua, didn't try to mix any of them .
As a non smoker, I never minded folk smoking in bars/clubs et al. It seems worse to me to make folk smoke outside bars, on the street, where everyone walking by has to pass through the clouds with no option to escape it. But govt & silly rules of banning it indoors in UK.... /shrugs

Whilst they`re obviously not as bad as the "known" health issues of real cig`s, there may be problems in the vapour.

Anyway... Few met recently smoke(?) these all the time, one kid has a Tutti Frutti scent, smells nice, although weird at same time. Another has Aniseed something, that was nice too.

I can see both arguments, personally where I used to live, there were a few pubs and one of them was a dedicated no smoking pub (before the law) the owners didnt want it and asked people to go outside with it, they didnt last long, other 2 close by were bursting with people and that one had about 3 regulars in it. But my partner at the time hated smoking etc so if we went out had to be no smoking.
I do agree with the law though and at least if its outside the passive smoking is reduced a fair bit, but damn in winter it can be fucking cold, my work for example has a shelter for people to stand and chat but the shelter is non smoking and the smokers like be are 15 meters further up with no shelter, there's a reason I take a jacket with me even in the good weather, its always in my bag so if it decides to rain i can still get my smoke :-)

This is one aspect of smoking that non-smokers should really try to emulate. When working in a job that requires concentration and problem solving, going outside for 5 minutes every once in a while to get some fresh air and clear your mind is really beneficial to your productivity. I experience time and time again that I find the solution to some technical problem I'm dealing with while I'm outside having a smoke break. It's not the cigarette that does it, it's just leaving your desk and taking a breather. Most non-smokers are really bad at taking those short, frequent breaks, because there's nothing pushing them to do it. But they should, they really should.
