It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

attempt supporting already existing platforms like Mac or Linux (we will look into those right after the release)
Yay!

Roxolani: Good news. Finally some developers released a free redux/remastered version.
Quite a few have already done so. I remember owners of the original "Trine" received a free upgrade to the enhanced version, and I know there were a few other free upgrades for GOG games.

I think it's usually upgrades/remasters of older games which aren't free, which is understandable.

Stronghold HD
Stronghold Crusader HD
Seven Kingdoms 2 HD

were all free upgrades too, although I didn't know it in the case of Stronghold and bought the HD edition although there was an HD patch for my old version, but I didn't know that, it was dirt cheap and I want to have DRM free installers instead of my old discs anyway.

Okay looks like the Redux version is out now on GOG, but you need to follow a couple steps to get it in your account:
"OK, a bit to be done before you can enjoy The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Redux in your accounts.

1. Just in case refresh your acount by visiting https://www.gog.com/account/refresh
2. Go to the game view in you library and choose SERIAL KEYS
3. Go to https://www.gog.com/redeem and enter the serial key from step 2 (direct link will probably not work)
4. That's it, now you may see the Redux version as it is a seperate game in your account. "

No VR finaly...

How about VR like Oculus?

Ethan is a perfect game for VR, isn’t it? We are looking into it, and want to do this, and have some ideas on how to do this. It might mean a partial redesign and remake of the game in order to assure the best possible experience. We have already made a few cool prototypes.

Will the VR version be a free update?

We don’t know but possibly not. It simply depends on the amount of work that is going to be needed to make a proper VR experience. As mentioned earlier, it looks like it’s not going to be just a few lines of code, but a serious rework of the game. Making a true VR experience is not about simply enabling 3D rendering on your existing game.

I'm sure that would be enough for most people.

Personally, I'm eagerly waiting for the Linux port of the new version.

Really hoping the Linux port isn't far behind. The move to Unreal Engine 4 was supposed to make the porting process easier for them.
I'm not sure what I like more about the Redux: the performance increase or the better save system but I'm glad I don't have to choose and it had both.
