Bigs: I want to back it... but Oct '15 is sooooo far away... :(
Alpha and beta versions will keep us more patient :-)
Any mention as to when they expect playable alphas/betas... I took it as Oct '15 before at even that stage

It's too early for alpha/beta exact dates. But I guess we'll see alpha at the end of 2014 and beta at the beginning of the next year :)
hmm... guess I'll sleep on it for a while...
A little update on the project: 50% already funded! :-)

Finger's crossed. Hopefully they get their second wind and take it all the way!
It certainly looks extremely interesting to me and it has a paypal option so theres nothing stopping me from backing it if I wish to. We will see I guess, maybe I should play populous first to help decide.
Peter Molyneux will probably hang himself if this turns out good.

Too strong words, but Godus isn't the game people are counting on.

Well, the review wasn't bad. But I can say that Universim hyped be more than seeing Godus.

Damn, I want those Black & White games here on GOG!!!

I'm mostly referring to the fact that old Pete still thinks he's the boss of the "god-game" genre despite not having made a better god-game than Populous 2 more than 20 years ago. If a small indie studio manages it then the guy will have to face up to all the hyped failed games he's been involved with for the last decade or more.

Sadly have to agree there. B&W was amusing, but hardly delivered on all it promised. And Fable is more gimmicky than groundbreaking. I think a clean-slate game like The Universim has a leg up in this race.
Another update on the project:

Dev team described shortly possibilities of the Prometheus, ingame world's engine. Impressive! :)

That does sound good!

Do you know if all tiers include the lower tiers, as in most of these funding projects? I'm interested in getting the Space Cows at the $40 tier, but only if it also includes the soundtrack and such at the $30 level. I don't see this explicitly spelled out except in the very high tiers.

Yup, it includes all the previous ones. So with 40$ you get the game, cowscraper (!), access to alpha and beta, soundtrack, wallpapers, manual, art book and thank you letter. Uff :)
