A man willing to work, and unable to find work, is perhaps the saddest sight that fortune's inequality exhibits under this sun. ~ Thomas Carlyle (1795-1881).
I have been reading a lot lately on the forums about members struggling to find work, or who are about to find themselves out of work. Because I feel so sorry for people in this predicament, honest, hardworking people who in many cases have degrees and/or other achievements who are doing their best to find work but are sadly unable to, despite their best efforts.
Ideally I would offer you a nice beer, but sadly this is not possible over the Internet. So instead I will offer you the next best thing, a game from GOG :). I thought it would be nice to host a giveaway which is only open to those that are unemployed or those that have had confirmation they are about to lose their job. Hopefully a GOG game will help in some way to lift your spirits (if only for a little bit), or at least give you a few hours of enjoyment playing a wonderful game.
Unfortunately I do not have the money to gift you all a game, as much as I would like to, so instead I will offer a lucky winner one of the prizes listed below. If the winner chose option 4 I will pick a second winner from among those that choose option 2 to 4.
The Prizes (any one from the list below):
1. Any $19.99 GOG game of your choice.
2. Any $14.99 GOG game of your choice.
3. Any $9.99 GOG game of your choice.
4. Any $5.99 GOG game of your choice.
Why is there 4 options? Well I was just wondering which one people would pick. I was wondering if people would be humble and pick the lower options or pick the $19.99 option and get a pricier game from their wish list. But please do not let this put you off picking option 1, I am more than happy for some worthy winner to have the $19.99 prize, I was just curious about which would be picked the most.
The Rules:
1. Must be a member since June 2014 with a rep of at least 20.
2. You must be unemployed, or about to become unemployed.
3. State which prize you are interested in ($5.99, $9.99, $14.99 or $19.99 and what game you would like).
4. To give everyone a fair chance you can only enter for yourself.
5. The prize must be redeemed by the winner.
6. The giveaway will end on Thursday 14th at 12:00 GMT to give people a chance to enter.
7. The winner(s) will be chosen randomly, using a manual raffle, not random.org :).
UPDATE:
Thanks to some wonderful and generous members here at GOG, I am able to offer some more prizes in this giveaway. Several kind members have offered to contribute a extra game so I will be able to pick more lucky winners in a weeks time. So far there will be at least 4 extra prizes! Thank you so much for your contributions.
Also, for those people unable to enter, or who want to try their luck on another giveaway as well, I am currently hosting a giveaway here, and you are more then welcome to enter, and if you're eligible to enter this giveaway then you are still welcome to enter both.
If you know a member of the forum who meets the requirements for this giveaway (unemployed or about to be unemployed) then please feel free to let them know about the giveaway, they are more than welcome to enter.
