"(points out to review outside of this store) I don't like this game anymore, devs changed it" : One Star.

"Meh, I don't like this game" : Two Stars.

And the "review" in question on this thread being another one more of those examples of "I know what should or shouldn't be sold here" not even mentioning the game at all. One Star.

That; they should give these three letters a new meaning AND make a big fuzz about it. Completely renaming would be bad (see "brand recognition").

Well you tell us which part is "good" or bad if you played it, but no one complains when great new games like Divinity Original Sins II are released here on Discogs, so why little fun games like this Tempest should not be seen here ?

Sorry. I expressed myself badly. I meant that they should keep the GOG brand, while finding a new meaning for the "O" in the logo - exactly like you say.

To be fair, it's not like the reviews on Steam are any better. I mean, yes, at least they can be organized in a more useful way, but a good deal of them are either jokes or simple "yes get thisa game it si goo di had fun 11/10" nonsense that sounds like it was created by a bot.

I think a fun little game is simply not good enough (too "niche"), though this is independent whether a game is old or not.

Yeah, i see your point. Problem is, in MY opinion, there are too many indy games everywhere, and most of the time "indy" game for me means sometime-fun little game, no more... That is the reason for i don't have steam account (amazing amount of ersatz of games).

Yet I have absolutely no problems when GOG releases brand new games (except for in dev or beta-kind releases, screw that), but in the matter of this thread (the review of Tempest), I see no point of putting that kind of review on a game's page, without even talking about the game itself...

Personally, I don't really get this complaint. What is wrong with having "fun little games" on Gog? I mean, I'm all for letting crappy games fall by the wayside, but just because a game isn't epic in scale or doesn't suit the taste of some users that isn't really a reason to not sell it in and of itself.
What about Hunie Pop, for example? Can't recall people complaining a lot about that release, and I don't see how this is anything other than a "fun little game". What I'm trying to say is - this seems like a very subjective sort of standard.

I've never heard of Tempest before, and it doesn't really look like my sort of thing, but to each their own, I suppose. I'd still consider a review by someone who's actually played it talking about why he did or didn't like it vastly more helpful than "never played it, looks shit, why is this even here?".

While other people give games 5 out of 5 stars because of blind nostalgia. Which is especially funny if it's for games that were long ago surpassed by better, more modern titles. A good example is Theme Park, one of your typical overrated Molyneux crap games. People rate it 5 stars because of nostalgia, because compare it to any of the old Roller Coaster Tycoon games or the new Planet Coaster and nobody should say "this is a good game even nowadays", but it's a 5 out of 5 stars because "OMG! I so remember playing that game over 20 years ago when i was an easy to impress 10 year old with a shitty 386. I haven't played that game in ages and i don't really want to play it again and certainly i won't tell you anything about it cause i can barely remember things but it's awesome!"

99% of the reviews here are complete crap (same with Steam and it's "lolz i puke out a meme. 11/10 ign" circle jerks.

Often times I find that nostalgia actually blinds us from how great games seriously were back in the day. Games are still good today, although since they are more mainstream you have to dig deep to find the gems sometimes.
I just love me some old games though, so maybe you'd call me biased. I can't help but to look past old graphics and interface just because I love history too much.
