If not around the end of October, it should still launch before this year's conclusion.
At least that's what I've been seeing whenever Nightdive was asked about it ("later this year").

On their social media channels I suppose, but it says so in the official announcement trailer's description too, although, on a closer look, in a different context unfortunately:

"Stay tuned for more info on The Thing: Remastered later this year."

"End of October" and "before this year's conclusion" might turn out wishful thinking after all.
We'll see.
