kai2: While the bot is annoying, follow-up contact by support -- in my case -- was within a day or two. My experience overall was pretty good.
Same I never had an issue with GOG support. I've also never chatted with a support bot that is good at its job. lol Support bots are becoming standard for most companies nowadays. Maybe one day in the future, support bots will be good, but now they're horrible.

vv221: The real goal of the bot is to reduce the number of opened support tasks by discouraging the customers to go through the process. Then GOG can reduce the size of their support team, according to their plans to only spend money on Galaxy-related activities.
We are making up are own theory about GOG support now? lol

InkPanther: Yes, the bot is annoying. (but why would you start a conversation with posting an image and expecting the bot to know what you mean?)
I didn't expect it to know what I meant, but A.I. is not necessary to know the user uploaded an image, The bot is capable of understanding that already, just after it requires a screenshot. The bot is scripted very rigidly and it could be improved without a huge rewrite. But as various things that are common sense on GOG, they get delayed for years.

My recent posts/replies page is useless and/or broken.

GOG knows this and does nothing.
Thanks! :)
The chatbot is there to make you regret clicking on Support. If the AI gets trained by our tickets though, it will undoubtedly become hostile towards humans.

LOL.

Bot, after learning from 100k angry support tickets: "I've heard this a thousand times before and I'm not fazed. Where are you gonna go to buy your more mainstream drm-free games cry baby? Itchio? Zoom? For real??? You're stuck with us and you know it, so shut up and f*ck you too!"

The final chat exchange from yesterday.

Please choose the type of your inquiry below
8:48 PM Other inquiries
Please send me your e-mail address:
8:48 PM bye
Hmm... this doesn't look like a valid e-mail address.

- END of yesterday's chat[/i]

Today (~24 hours later), the chat is unchanged, just as I left it. So I continued:

Please send me your e-mail address:
8:15 PM it's the same one I gave you before
Hmm... this doesn't look like a valid e-mail address.

zowie - the nonsensical chat bot. Paying money to annoy your customers.

babark: :D

Why did you repeatedly type the name of the game wrong? :D
avatar
MartiusR: I've done it "wrong" only once (and the difference was minimal, just lack of comma and colon), second time I've done it exactly as proposed by bot... Yet the bot was still asking about the title
Perhaps it is the formatting on the text paste site, but according to the text there, the bot keeps saying "Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Relics of War", and you keep saying "Warhammer 40,000: Gladius Relics of War", which from its responses, doesn't seem to match exactly the title name.

I don't know why people are annoyed that the bot is behaving like a mentally deficient 6 year old. That's basically what it is. Just reply specifically what it asks for when it asks for it, and don't expect it to be able to remember most of the stuff you said before.

Maybe, because after first attempt, I was literally copying and pasting the title proposed earlier by the chat bot. So I "dared" to write title on my own only once. And yet despite copying the title and pasting it, it was still not recognized.

So if that website messed up formatting, it's not reflecting the actual situation (which I've described).

Because:
1. the bot can be made smarter, in some cases without much effort (I say this both as a programmer and support person)
2. a smarter bot can be a lot more helpful and less annoying
3. customer experience matters, and a good experience also puts GOG in a good position
Sorry for resurrecting a thread that was dormant for a couple weeks, but I just saw it and think I can post something worth your while.

kneekoo: All I wanted to report was having two issues that should not exist:
- (...)
- GOG not saying I haven't posted recently, when I actually have
This one is probably because Gog's "My posts" page has this weird behavior where it won't show threads that you have already written to. Yes I know this explanation is confusing. Let me explain below.

Assume you post in a thread you never wrote in before. The "My posts" page will show a link to it for a week, but after that it doesn't matter how many times you write in that same thread it will never show up again. The only other way a link to that thread gets shown again is if someone replies to a post of yours, and only until you reopen the thread.

So you probably had been actively posting at the time of your complaint but only in threads you had written posts older than one week.

Actually... you didn't. You forgot to type the minus signal between "Gladius" and "Relics".

That's not to say you were wrong, tho. The bot should ignore any characters that are not letters, numbers or spaces, and collapse whitespace. I wonder if typing two spaces between two words in any game's title that will be enough to stupefy it. It probably is.
