Breja: Agent Fox "Spooky" Mulder.
avatar
zeogold: I have no idea who that is.
You are shitting me right?

Are you saying you've never seen the X-Files?

Breja: Are you saying you've never seen the X-Files?
Nope, never have.

Breja: You are shitting me right?
I imagine you'd be quite difficult to pass, so no.

What are you even still doing here? Go and get it and watch it now! Seriously, it a superb show, and not knowing it... how can you even show yourself among us nerds here, and not know who Mulder is?

Trying to pass one heck of a blockage, apparently.

Nah. Too hip, trendy, and popular. That's simply not my style.

I'm a Puzzlemaster, not a nerd. There's a difference.

Maybe 20 years ago :D Anyway, suit yourself, but you really are missing out. I'm near the end of rewatching the whole thing, and it still holds up as one of the very, very best. You should at least see a few episodes, it's such an important part of popular culture it's good to have some idea, if only to get an occasional reference :D

It's almost a set rule with me that I never get interested in something that a lot of people my age are talking about until AFTER they're through being interested in it.
Kinda weird how it always turns out that way, but it usually does. Guess it's why I'm here.
I'll look into the series, supposedly it's good.

I get that, I often have the same reaction. But in reality, dismissing something just because it's popular is as silly as it is to embrace it because of it's popularity. In the end it's best to totally disregard the popular vote, and just follow one's own interests, whether they happen to be the same as the majority or quite the contrary.

It's bloody brilliant! At least if you ask me :D

As someone who only got into the show very recently (last year), I can support this sentiment. Shockingly good series, unless we're talking about season 7 or that second movie they made.

Yeah, the X-Files is an excellent show. Easily the best science fiction TV show of the past 30 years in my opinion.

As for Spoony, I appreciate his knowledge and passion regarding old games, but the guy annoys me.

Coolies, all in one single video. I'll have to watch it (or re-watch as I have watched all his reviews before but fighting with the playlist and finding his videos can be a pain).

For me that's Babylon 5, but X-Files is definately in my top 5. Those are very different kinds of sci-fi though. If we were talking Earth-based, present day setting sci-fi, then yeah, X-Files definately takes the top spot.

eksasol: Not a Spoony fan, but I enjoy his FF8 review (possibly my least favorite ff game). Although don't know if it's worth watching through the whole thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1njLpZDfUCQ&list=PLCjTX7Dv3khpqGVPQqkMf7HaQvbscTReY
lord fuck a duck that thing is almost 3 hours

this one is anyway https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3vgl_JB0AM

It's not really a reaction/on purpose, though. I just never get around to it until the popularity phase has passed.

yeah after 5 hours it does get kinda grating
and most of his outrage over ultima 9 goes a bit over my head because i dont have intimate knowledge of the series
and never played or felt connected to the series
