flammenbringer: Why would you buy games to get a random one for free? That's seriously strange.
I guess you were aware of what was written in the sale FAQ? Where is a community exploitation there? Besides, shouldn't you have complained two days ago, when this topic was raised here?

davem74: Thank you for your reply. Your subjective opinion on what is 'seriously strange' is irrelevant. In addition, as someone using this site as a customer, I should not have to rely on reading topics raised on forums to understand any issues around its sales.
But seeing as they ran out of freebies well over a day ago, it's a bit late for you to somehow only just notice.

Thank you for your reply. I last logged in last night, where the scheme was working. Now I've logged in today, and it isn't.

See, I also am merely a customer. But I _did_ read the sale FAQ, that was linked in the freebie box. I also fell one short of receiving a freebie, but I still got great bargains. So I didn't complain.

Slight problem, they ran out two days ago, so if your browser was still showing that they had any left last night it must have been using an old cache of the page.

I actually agree with davem. I didn't buy extra games to try to get anything for free, but it is an odd strategy on GOG's part. I don't have time to read through the FAQs. But trying to downplay his concerns as complaining, or untimely, is bad form.

davem74: Really disapointed - I was trying to slowly build up to 10 games (tactically buying games for just this reason), and now I'm stuffed because they've withdrawn the free game after 10 purchases? So I'm stuck with games hat I only bought to qualify for this...I don't usually comment, but GOG, that sucks. Way to go to exploit your community.
If you haven't downloaded those games, ask for a refund.

I wasn't aware that complaing has a negative connotation. Was merely wondering why he raised his voice two days after the first concerns have been voiced.

Oh, forgot to add: Reading the fine print in contracts should be second nature nowadays. It is for me. ;)

You know what?

I quit!

I'm done, it's over, I've been waiting for two days for TWAU to come back and Bigby's not going to show his ugly unshaved face anymore.

So I'm off to do something more productive, like draw porn pictures of Monkey Island characters.
Eh, people are completely entitled to complain if they feel they've been cheated, that's all well and good. What's been confusing me is why people would spend money on 10 games they don't necessarily want, in order to get one free game - at random - that they might not even want. Am I missing something? Why not just spend your money on the ones you do want and be done with it?
So do these odd numbers coming up mean the sale is coming to an end?
I've been too busy until today to camp out in front of the computer to get the new releases J.U.L.I.A.: Among The Stars and Subterrain, but I was finally able to snag Jotun.

Yep, seems like that's the final sellout now.
