Ok well thanks for that. S&M and BTTF were the titles they did make I wanted most and they really suck at logic with those point and clicks so I swore off them.

This walking dead game of theirs it seems from your description it's like an extended quick time event from a console game mixed with the you never know when you're screwing yourself (or not) of the 1980s Choose Your Own Adventure books. That could be interesting.

When did they switch styles?

Laberbacke: Sam and Max (and the Back To The Future games) are "traditional" adventure games. Telltale doesn't make stuff like that anymore. Their newer games are more like interactive movies, where you are put on the spot with decision-making.
avatar
j0ekerr: Choose your own adventure video-books wth quicktime events. That's what I got from TWD.

That's the formula they've taken and refined upon. And from what people keep saying, it's worked pretty well up to TftB

Except for GoT, which no one seems to care much about.
Their Minecraft game has also attracted a lot of "meh". So GoT isn't a complete outlier.
avatar
Laberbacke: If anyone wants to know: The Telltale formula works surprisingly well with Borderlands. I enjoyed it.
avatar
zlep: I've seen lots of good comments about it, but everyone commenting seems to have played Borderlands, which I haven't. I know nothing about it beyond its distinctive art style. Does Tales From expect you to know characters, lore, or plot points from the source games, or can you go in blind?
Everyone from the games is introduced properly, you can just go in blind.

tanukisuit: When did they switch styles?
Walking Dead.

NuffCatnip: Do you think there´ll be another batch of new games ?

On a sidenote, I honestly prefer a normal sale to this kind of sale, I made too many impulse buys because of the artificial "rush".
That's kind of the whole point!
That and caffeine!

I played TftB with minimal experience with Borderlands, less than 2 hours. You can go in blind just fine.
I'm caffeine immune, how do you like that?

You don't NEED it, but it really adds to the enjoyment.

With the (really bad) Jurassic Park game of theirs. Don't play that!

How many hours until "Day 4" starts? People have previously cited a "magic time" at which new games appear, but I don't remember what it was. :-(

Bookwyrm627: For all that seem to be missing gift codes, I just double checked the FAQ. Bolding is mine:

5) How, and when, will I receive my free game?Once you start unlocking games, you can find the redeemable game keys by clicking on the "Check Progress" button next to your counter. Soon after you unlock the reward, we'll email you with a gift code redeemable at gog.com/redeem. You can claim it for yourself or pass it on to a friend. It might take a few hours for the message to be delivered, so please be patient.

Fogamer: Well, for me there is no "Check Progress" button. When I reached 10 games, the counter went back to 9 and that's it.
Clicking on "more info" just shows a lock symbol under the counter, no button.

Either it's some technical glitch (hope so), or some serious rip-off by GOG... if they are really already "out of freebies", but still claiming that I can get one if I continue buying, that would by HIGHLY immoral (and probably even illegal in most parts of the world).
First off I hope everyone who's entitled gets their free game.
This from the FAQ:
"Keep in mind that the stock of free games is limited. However unlikely, it's possible they may run out"
should've been in the learn more section and in the FAQ and maybe mentioned in their sale post.
Anyway I've only got the witcher 3 so far but hoping to get the wolf among us and the star wars tie fighter and X-Wing.
I wouldn't call GoT bad. Then again, I never read the books or watched the show.

2 PM GMT.
avatar
Bookwyrm627: This one will run faster than the previous one, in part because we won't have such long KEEEEEEAAAANNNEEEE stretches.
avatar
seashells: lol nothing wrong with Jack Keane, I played the first one ;P
Funny you should mention that. It was Jack Keane 2 that was the big problem.

That´s a game I´d like to see on gog. :)
