Niggles: What did you think of Wolf Among Us?

omega64: Mostly indifferent.
You?
Havent finished it yet. But infinitely better than Walking Dead ....thats impression i got

NuffCatnip: From what I´ve heard it´s about exploration and boss battles, there aren´t that many enemy encounters beside the boss fights.
It´s quite beautiful and you´ll get a couple hours of fun out of it (some reviewers took 3, some 8 hours to play through it).

BreOl72: Thank you! :)
You´re welcome! :)

Laberbacke: If you like both Borderlands and Telltale games, you are golden. If only one of them, should still be good.
avatar
tanukisuit: And if you like neither? Borderlands isn't my thing, and I bought a couple of Telltales earlier Sam & Max games and was very disappointed at their disjointed illogical way to figure out how to work a room basically on it. It did not compare favorably at all to me with the old Lucasarts title as that one never made me feel stupid or stuck even if I had to think things out as at least it felt like it made sense why to do something and how to do it.
Everything from Walking Dead onwards is entirely different from their previous games gameplay wise.
It's more of a story where you make choices than a point and click/adventure game.

Sam and Max (and the Back To The Future games) are "traditional" adventure games. Telltale doesn't make stuff like that anymore. Their newer games are more like interactive movies, where you are put on the spot with decision-making.

I liked the Walking Dead better aside from hating Clementine, as you might guess Season 2 didn't really help.

zlep: That's been the problem with this round of insomnia. Everything comes around again so regularly that there's no chance of missing anything. The challenge is gone.

Dare I say it... Insomnia has been dumbed down for the casuals. ^_^
avatar
Niggles: its a challenge to grab something when it goes fast. Not when games Kerbalize :/
And that was true in previous Insomnias, where you were in a constant battle against swing-and-miss or the GOG bear. But this round it's just been the *appearance* of challenge, because games come back around 4 times a day. Like if you miss a bus, another will be by shortly.

The only game that seems to have been a genuine challenge was the D&D Enhanced 3-pack, which only appeared twice.

This one is like their new games, the ones that work off The Walking Dead formula.
I enjoyed, but wasn't hugely into either Borderlands or Telltale adventures. But I thought Tales from the Borderlands was super good.

It's like the took all the humor and craziness from the Borderlands universe, and made a game focusing only on that. It works great.

BreOl72: I liked the first Borderlands...haven't played any of the Telltale games (but bought TWD, TWAU and now this in this sale, to find out what all the fuss is about) - so I should be good (I hope).

;)
This builds more on the second Borderlands (and the Pre-Sequel), both of which are quite a bit "wackier" than the first. Play the games you bought in order of release (not because they are connected, but because of the evolution of gameplay mechanics).
I almost forgot about HK: the Inquisition.
It looks thorooughly average.
But it's on the bottom of the bargain bin price range.
Should I pounce or save my moolah for TWAU if it reappears?

Do you think there´ll be another batch of new games ?

On a sidenote, I honestly prefer a normal sale to this kind of sale, I made too many impulse buys because of the artificial "rush".

Save your money.

Will do! :)

Choose your own adventure video-books wth quicktime events. That's what I got from TWD.

That's the formula they've taken and refined upon. And from what people keep saying, it's worked pretty well up to TftB

Except for GoT, which no one seems to care much about.
It still glorified fan-fiction.

Laberbacke: If anyone wants to know: The Telltale formula works surprisingly well with Borderlands. I enjoyed it.
I've seen lots of good comments about it, but everyone commenting seems to have played Borderlands, which I haven't. I know nothing about it beyond its distinctive art style. Does Tales From expect you to know characters, lore, or plot points from the source games, or can you go in blind?
