saberstorm11: if only no man's sky was offered with discount ... that game so pricy
Why not a free gold bar on top to go with that?
again victor vran?doesn't everyone have it already? :)

Klumpen0815: Every game I checked was regionally priced, how are you supposed to use all this store credit if you got most of the old pre-regional catalogue?
avatar
jadeite: You can use store credit on regionally priced games, it shoud be applied to your next purchase.
Of course you can, but you also get new store credit, so it is an endless cycle ;-)

They keep you coming back?
Unfortunately, they still don't offer regional pricing for Canada, so I end up paying 2.5% to my credit card on top of the exchange rate...

Niggles: Cant pls everyone. I dislike the bundled games concept GOG launches every Xmas day. But love the Insomnia sale.
The pricing and discounts available @ a given price AND given quantity are determined by publisher. Not GOG. So unfair to blame them.
Yep. GOG has a variety of sales for a reason. If you don't like one, wait for the next. As for as Insomnia goes, I go in with the expectation that I won't get every game that I might want and thus end up happy with whatever I manage to buy on sale. Most of us have work or sleep or something to get done, and we can't necessarily change when that happens, so might as well just enjoy the ride. And if you don't get everything you want, there's always trading to try.

SoanoS: I see.

Time of the year this cancer that is Insomnia sale appears again. I didn't find it enjoyable or exciting last year, and this year is no different.

Anyway. I don't get it. How can a digital, non-physical item have a limited number or "run out"? Sounds like an excuse to make people go for an impulse purchase because "It is limited". Got to admit, the sheep really is a clever theme, it describes the gullible people who always fall for these "sales" and spend way too much money on them.
Agreements on how many they can give out for free. Remember, they're working with the companies that actually own the rights to the games. Temporary sales is advertising of the game at full price.
Oh, well. At least I didn't waste a cent on this promo.

I can't help but feel a little bit "of schadenfreude" toward those people who went and splurged all their money only to get a "free" game and only got 9 games or less and got thoroughly shafted.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the odd themed sale every now and then, but I feel this format is a bit unfair towards people who can't sit at their computer around the clock repeatedly hitting F5 to refresh the page like the sadsacks they are. :P

If only would just cut down their prices across the board permanently instead.

I really wish GoG returned to their roots and started releasing Good Old Games again. I have grown a bit tired of these "indie" games. In my opinion "shovelware" would be a much better term for some of this garbage..

Anyway, enough of me ranting. I know this earns me a lot of hate but I just had to say it. Carry on.
I am gonna hate myself for the pun, but you consider Shovel Knight shovelware?

Klumpen0815: Not really, many here use scripts that do it for them which is cheating.
monkey islandd bundle yesterday was gone in 2 seconds due to scripts

Dev is probably confident more than enough people will keep buying it at its existing price. :/
Bought the Kyrandia bundle. I think they fit in the Good Old Games category.

Managed to get the Monkey Island HD bundle was well.

My freebie was Victor Vran. Had it on my (internal) wishlist already.

So: happy :-)
