The_Blog: They did. But they did not tell they get into the critical area. Unless ofcourse I missed something. It is more about the people who bought games expecting a freebie and then stared at the We are out of games text.

Bookwyrm627: There was a little bit of warning in at least 2 different threads (this one, and some french thread I someone had linked). Granted, it wasn't a precise warning, more like "Looks like we're running out of freebies in the next several hours. If you're close, better start looking to get over the line".

We'll see what happens if freebies don't roll out to those who made the mark before the "Oh noez, freebies are all gone!" text was up. I beat the mark for my last freebie by maybe an hour (went for a 30 minute walk, and the message was up when I came back), though I haven't seen it yet.

I'm wondering if some of the delay is because we're dipping into the next day's stock of not-yet-in-rotation freebie titles (assuming there is a next day).
That warning was posted an hour AFTER I didn't receive my freebie. So I'm still holding out hope.
The warning that freebies could run out was in the fine print of the sale, yes, but GOG really should have warned people on the sale page. Posting warnings in the forum means absolutely nothing. Most GOG customers probably don't even know we have forums, let alone use them.

Ditto. If I don't receive it some time tonight, I plan to open a support ticket and work with them. If they ran out of freebies before they changed the message, then I'm going to see about getting some of these purchases converted to gift codes, which I'll either give away or trade for something I'm more inclined to want. A few of my most recent stack were mostly (or entirely, with the case of that last $1.50 one) bought to push me over the edge to a new freebie.

blakstar: I think I just twigged what was different for me this sale -- there was no real "insomnia" bit, despite the title.

Everything was repeating so often that I managed to sleep each night, and still buy everything I wanted.

I guess The_Blog was right -- the sense of "comradeship" seemed have been lost. :-(
Yes, mixing their two sales, flash and insomnia elements together, you get this "mess". The heart and soul of the Insomnia sale is gone.

EDIT: forgot to proof read *sigh* Not for lack of sleep. Ha!

So what were the "games never before seen on GOG.com"? I don't care about freebies or even discounts; I just want to see some new (old) games. I often dread sales here, because they tend to bring releases to a halt.

I believe there were three:
J.U.L.I.A. Among the Stars
Jotun
Subterrain

Sadly, none of them were classics

EDIT: fixed broken link

Hurm I just noticed that the freebies are gone.

Shows how much attention I was paying.

Even less incentive now though.
It may be a stupid question but I don't remember : how long was the previous insomnia sale ?
Could it be finished tomorrow or have we probably still few days ?
Its sad they ran out of games, but I love GOG, if it makes everyone feel better I got Hatoful Boyfriend as my free game - easily buyable in the sale for US$2, not really worth buying 10 games for lol!

But nm, I am still keeping an eye out for bargains, and I prefer this site over any other :)

This one will run faster than the previous one, in part because we won't have such long KEEEEEEAAAANNNEEEE stretches.

Indeed. I wonder if they were targeted by some kind of scam, running out of freebies so fast seems ludicrous.
Julliiiiaaaaaaaaaa, my love
Star Wars: X-Wing

Is there anyone on the planet who doesn't own it yet? It's been stuck there for what feels like a good 15 minutes now.....
