IIRC it's from an old bedtime story where the Fox tricks almost every animal of the forest, until he is forced to fight with the wolf to prove his innocence (old-times justice) This image shows the Monkey preparing the Fox for the fight, first shaving off the hair and then lubricating with oil.
Needless to say the wolf lost the fight. One more win for the Fox!
