HijacK: All right! I want to start a project, albeit maybe too ambitious for a beginner like me, to complete the Arcanum game that we have on GOG. I have done a bit of research, and apparently Arcanum: The Lost Dungeon of Souls was a bonus disk given to the people that have pre-ordered the game through EB games. (This information is what I was able to read from unofficial forums since there appears to be no official information on the module), so I was thinking, after so many years, surely they can release it as a small add-on or DLC similar to the DLC Sword of the Stars has here on GOG. Did anyone do any research on the rights of this before, or do I have to start from scratch?

IAmSinistar: I agree with Piranjade, give it a go. It would be a nice addition here on GOG, to be able to expand a classic release with more content!
I have also learned the game's soundtrack was apparently released as a free download, though not commercially (which for me it's kinda sad because I wanted to buy it), so I am wondering if GOG could get that as an extra for the original game as well.

That would certainly be welcome! I like as many soundtracks as possible to be offered here.

pezhead53: This one's from a while ago, but I forgot to ever post it here. Bill Appleton, former founder of Cyberflix stated on Twitter that he still owned the rights to the company's catalog of games, most notably Titanic: Adventure Out of Time. I sent him a message asking if he'd consider re-releasing them, but I never got a response.

Piranjade: I asked him about that some time ago:

It's one of those cases where I wonder: Why NOT do a re-release?
Ah, it's such a pity that he isn't really interested in any re-releases. There are still so many forgotten games waiting to be discovered (along with Cyberflix titles).
Anyone hear anything about Pier Solar coming to GOG it comes out on the 30th?
how far away from a no one lives forever release on gog are we?
I have messaged Judas about the OST of Arcanum and if they could add it. 24 hours and no response, but it's understandable since a lot of people message him. Hopefully I'll get a response soon.

Since the OST was released as a free download, is there an actual rights infringement if GOG offers it as a free bonus tot he game's purchase? I can see it technically as a yes, but I am not sure about this. Needless to say I don't think the composer still uses that email address. I may have to track a newer one down.

AFAIK GOG would need Ben's permission to offer it here, and possibly Activision's permission to offer it as bonus content. Honestly I don't know and am skeptical since we don't have it by now in the 3 or 4 years the game has been here, but you're welcome to try.

Hmmm, the composer's permission might be easy. Activision's won't considering they don't listen to consumers. It would have to be a request coming from GOG, and I don't think they are willing to make it.

Many of our questions and ideas lead to some more research on GOG's part, organising stuff or asking the legal department.
Don't expect a quick answer, it can all take a along time.

Also, it's the weekend. Judas is very likely playing games at home instead of sitting in the GOG offices. :)

Still, a "I'll get back to you once I get an answer!" would be nice.

See above. It's the weekend. He's not at work, and probably not checking the GOG forums, or at least not on issues like this. The guy deserves his own days off as well, yes? Especially consider what his days coping with us are like. :)

Understandable.
