ssling: You can't realistically expect that none of the hundreds/thousands people they send it to will not share link to anonymous survey available without any authorization. If this was the case they would use some restrictions.
Maybe they just they don't expect that people who receive the emails immediately go to the forums and share the link. With a form of authorization for each single user the anonymity might be gone. They haven't posted the link as part of their news. I assume that they at least don't want this survey link being shared in social media platforms of competing stores. This happened with the previous link and it will now happen again.

clarry: Getting in-depth feedback from "top customers" sounds like a good idea.
Agreed. I wish I had received the survey, but I don't spend much money here and totally get the desire for specific feedback from those spending the most money here since GOG is, at the end of the day, a business who of course wants to stay in business.

I doubt spending is the key to getting the survey. Or maybe I'm just underestimating how much other people spend.. but I spent nearly 900 eur last year and didn't get the survey.

You mean they've overestimated their customer base AGAIN ?

How do you even do that on a GAMERS website ?

"We're a company of gamers and we build GOG as a platform we, as gamers, want to use ..."

Maybe the many GAMERS that run this site were not smart enough to figure out what's going to happen when they send a link to many GAMERS... :P

Nah, I think we're overthinking it. Maybe they just decided that email is the chosen way to reach out to their customers, and didn't make any assumptions about what happens to the link next. I'm still damn curious about what's the criteria for receiving that message though. And, well, a little bit disappointed about how it went.

It is random. Think about the "What will you vote for on next election day?" surveys. You choose a random group which also covers the different groups of voters. They would have otherwise posted a news article with a link to the survey.

I'm not convinced. Given that a huge number of forum regulars got the survey (and in that thread, people asking for a link seemed like a tiny minority), the number of users they should've sent the survey to achieve that outcome should be absolutely massive. At which point they could've just sent it to everyone.

If it was your typical random selection to get a small but representative sample, most of us would have not received the link and it's quite likely we wouldn't even have heard of the survey at all here on the forums.

How much recently?

I haven't got this impression. There were more people in that thread who complained that they couldn't participate. At some point the link was shared because of this.

FrostburnPhoenix: How much recently?
104.56 eur in Decemeber.
I Got it this time apparently, so I'm betting it's random.

I spent more than you and got the survey right away. I think there going by how much we spend or how many games we have in our account.

Shrug, maybe. I wouldn't make an assumption on one data point. So far nobody who got the survey has revealed how much they spent or how many games they've got in these threads..

True, but I did notice a few people complaining about not getting it had less games than me. But it's not really a big deal I guess.

Whoa. Hmmm, okay. Yeah pretty sure you should qualify.

It is what it is I guess :P
