More like the quality of 'past' games determines the price - well i guess that comes under reputation.

Overall the reputation of the game company is the most significant pricing factor.

Also the reputation of individual developers can carry allot of weight (Sid Meier for example)

You could have the crappiest game company in the world, put Sid Meier on your staff and what will happen to the price of your games? ka-ching!

However i have noticed some big game companies getting away with unremarkable quality because of their big established marketing setups, deals with console companies, all manner of other market control deals going on too...

market manipulation just because their big, they can, and don't respect customers.

XD The Cardinals have eleven World Championships. The Cubs have three. :P Trust me, I'm not bitter, I just despise their fans. They have NO respect for the game and for 108 years they managed to blame everyone but the team for their lack of success.
