DyNaer: mmmm...... rise from the grave....
Welcome back! Next time ShadowPatriarch calls an impromptu meeting, I suggest you buy a map.
avatar
Habanerose: Burn the Puzzlemaster, as he never specified there may be additional evidence later down the line.
avatar
DyNaer: seconded :P

or..... send him to the local mafia hide-out ....
I'm starting to sense a conspiracy of Frenchmen.
avatar
Habanerose: Odd, something tells me that the box either contains the corpse of the co-worker or Mr. Zea Gold.

Either way, let's get over with it, and Open the Box, then Burn the Puzzlemaster, as he never specified there may be additional evidence later down the line.
I did say there'd be a "stage 2".
Now, the question is whether this is it.

Habanerose: Sidenote:

About the phrase in Turkish "Seni mafya'dan kimse kurtaramaz" (Google translated too "nobody can save you from the mob (mafia?)" )

I've been wondering a bit if it could possibly also mean: "Nobody can escape from the mob / mafia"

Which oddly enough could mean that maybe Mr. Krypsyn's former associates kinda view in a bad light his desire to turn the page and leading a honest life. And the murder of his girlfriend was either a message, or some kind of twisted punishment, as in making him go to jail to remind him that he can never really leave the mafia...

Well still, doesn't explain Archie's suspicious behavior.
Interesting theory.

Bookwyrm627: I think you all should totally avoid the box for the entire rest of the court, just to mess with the judge's lackey. If you could successfully finish this case by Day 3, then the box, which didn't come until Day 3, isn't necessary to successfully finish the case.

Additionally, may I point out that Mr. Krypsyn may well have killed Darleen and then tried to make it look like the mafia was attempting to frame him for the kill? Seems to be working out for him so far.
Another interesting theory.

bler144: Possible. Makes much more sense than the mafia actually framing him.

As an ex-mafioso with secrets, it makes zero sense for them to frame him, since it puts him in a position of possibly needing to plea and buy weight by trading knowledge of prior organized crime activities. They either kill him or leave him alone.
Yet another interesting theory.

sunshinecorp: Feisty! The way I like 'em!

His reasoning only holds if the soup stand preserves its previous state when it reappears.
But judging from the soup stand owner, that is very much likely.
avatar
omega64: But how?
When he moves it does he keep it flipped?
Are there wheels on top and bottom?
Does he lift it?
Does he bring it and then flip it upside down again?

So many questions.
Possibly the most interesting theory of all.

Heh.

ZFR: Objection! We were not given prior notice of this evidence. Had we known other evidence existed that might have affected our verdict, we might not have voted as we did.

This should not be admissible. Vote: burn the box!
avatar
Habanerose: Hey now, that's cheating :P

Vote: Burn the Puzzlemaster
Seconds that vote ;-)
Maxvorstadt seems to be taking his time with his arrival and there's an overwhelming majority for the box, so, like last game, if you guys want to move things along, I'll give you the chance to vote to either Wait for Maxvorstadt or Get on with it. 7 votes for either of those, and that's what'll happen.

Well, given that his vote wouldn't really change anything... Get on with it

Wanna know what's in the box... even if it's just Zeo's dirty underwear :P

Nah, that would smell worse.
Just to delay opening that box. Wait for Maxvorstadt.
What if this box is a trap?
I say we wait for Maxvorstadt so he can be the one opening it, while we’re taking cover behind the magistrates.
