Better a single guilty man is released then a hundred innocent men incarcerated.
The guilty man may offend later and we will get him then. A-ha! *points wildly in all directions*
-- Sorry I am still digesting todays information against what I already have, and people comments. I will be with you guys shortly. :)

Alright, I've found a computer.
The Evidence:
Alright, there are only a few ways for there to be blood residue on the floor. Either it was dripping from his clothing, or it was on his shoes, or maybe he happened to be crawling. I'll discount the third option for now. If it was dripping, then this is obviously the only places he went. If it was on his shoes, then we can't discount many other possibilities, if he simply removed his shoes.
Now, positioning. Unfortunately, our dear Puzzlemaster seems disinclined to tell us where Whitemane was interrogated. Or interviewed, or whatever.
If Whitemane was interviewed in the kitchen, then the blood traces are completely explainable. If not, then we've got some weird stuff going down, because there should be blood traces wherever he was interrogated.
For now, I'm going to again vote Evidence from the Car because I still feel that's more useful than the field. Although if our evidence this time was any indication, it may not be all that helpful.
Questions for the Puzzlemaster:
Where was Whitemane interrogated and arrested?
Did the blood stains resemble drops, or shoe prints?

Considering that they found Endre in the field and one of the workmen held him as soon as they saw the body, It's reasonable to assume he stayed in the field until the cops arrested him.
