--Original announcement--
Piñata Madness is back – meaning excitement, mystery, and exceptional deals on some of our favorite hand-picked titles.

What is Piñata Madness?
For $3, you can buy and smash your own digital Piñata, each holding one of 100+ mystery games worth anywhere from $5.99 all the way up to $44.99.
Visit your <span class="bold">Pinata hub</span>, where can buy, open, and see everything Piñata Madness!
Just like real-life Piñatas, they'll bring you joy, surprise, and reward. Unlike real-life Piñatas, ours drop really good games instead of candy – games like Pillars of Eternity, Shadow Warrior 2, Heroes of Might and Magic, Victor Vran, and more!
It's a great way to broaden your horizons and try out games you otherwise wouldn't, knowing you're always getting a deal that's worth it. And if you already own every game included in our Piñatas, each game you drop will be a giftable code so you share the joy with your friends.

Weekly Megasale
If you'd rather know exactly you're getting, check out the Weekly Megasale featuring great deals up to -90% on some of our favorite titles including Darkest Dungeon, Shadowrun: Hong Kong, Heroes of Might and Magic III, and more!

The Piñata Madness and Weekly Megasale last until August 21, 2017, 9:59 PM UTC.

MarkoH01: Don't know if it has been said already but imo it is a very bad idea that Pinatas will automatically added to your account. It would be better for us AND GOG if we would get codes we could gift away or trade. Now I buy a Pinata I don't want and (not using my legal right of withdrawal from contract) I would hide from my library. Yay - $3 hidden away from me. No fun. If I would get a code I could still try to trade it or to give it away for free to make other people happy. So this way I would buy a lot more Pinatas. A very, very, very bad decision for us as well as for GOG. But it's not the first time GOG has not thought something completely out until the end.
This.

I made the bad assumption that I would receive codes, just like I have in every other GOG gamble promo.

I'm not entirely adverse to owning Bedlam, but I guarantee that I would have attempted to move the code if I could have. Not buying anymore as a result.

Thanks, GOG, for free Deadlight! I've just bought it with Humble Bundle, but GOG is my number one place to own games, so it's really nice I've got it here, in GOG library.

Regarding piñatas - uhm, no, thanks. Knowing my luck I'd get something I'm not interested in. There are still games on my wishlist available for $3 now, so there is no reason to rely on blind chance. However - good luck to you, friends!
Purchased piñatas, not showinging up to open.

What's going on? Overwhelming traffic woes?

kohlrak: Which is often a lie. The number of ARPGs that are actually "click to move around" is fairly annoying (seems to be the majority of ARPGs). Got a few decent RPGs from "strategy," though.

trusteft: What do you mean? You do not consider Diablo series, Titan Quest, (among others) ARPGs?
Haven't played them, so i don't know. The idea of an ARPG, however, is that there's action. If you're clicking and telling your character where to go instead of direct control, it's less Action, more RTS or TBS.
No SSI AD&D Gold Box series sale = no buy for me . Not interested in Devolver or Telltale games .

Question is, does GoG like to sell as many Pinatas as possible? I don't find a business reason, do you?
(OTOH it's not stated the pool is limited but we don't know what the pool is and is it dynamic or not - they're free to adjust it at will)

No, gambling for me. I think the piñata game would benefit new members who don't have a lot in their account.
I'm swimming in my backlog now! ( ;゚д゚)

If they had a sale and you would get a piñata for free with "X" amount of games you buy, then that would be better.
Out of 21 pinatas, 5 repeats converted to gifts and two inferior versions of the games I already had (Tyranny and Pillars), no codes.
On the other hand, Tolva, Everything, Rime, Pinstripe and Viking!
Out of 2 piñatas... 2 hours of waiting... not showing up yet.... I want to whack something for my money!
...

Edit - I'll just pretend I got Deadlight out of the piñatas... :-)

Daminite: Edit: And I agree with the guy above about at least having a genre option. 4 of the games are rts, my least favorite genre
I'm that guy! Thanks! ;)

It's a decent feature proposition.

I feel robbed. We shouldn't feel robbed when giving money to GOG. :/

Also, could be nice to get higher priced stuff the morre you buy pinatas or something.

Lucky ones .
This weeks enigmatic hint for a new release: something with Pinatas

Shouldn't be too hard. :D
Is there by chance any code in place to make the game you get match your OS? Wouldn't much care for getting stuck with one of those windows games which isn't supported by wine yet...

(No worries if there isn't - just wondering...)

edit: oh, never mind, I see that clarry asked and answered this one in the negative already 2 hours ago. Oh well, thanks anyway for the cool format, and maybe an improvement to consider next time around? I imagine both Mac and Linux users would be quite happy with it.

O.K. - that is a valid point I have to agree. It's just $3 for a game worth more than that.
