I'd hate to spoil everyone's good mood, but me and my assistant have performed some tests, and flowers don't seem very effective against guns after all.

We'll be testing candles next, once he's out of the hospital.

That is totally not warranted interpretation given the interview quotes. I remember the Boston bombers' mother quoted with a much more supportive approach to her sons' acts. In this case that does not seem to be the case at all. For all you and I know she did express sympathy but that was not the news angle being presented. Maybe chill?

Unless you mean she seems to not be emotionaly distressed about the death of two of her own sons. But I doubt that's what you meant and I'm further sure quotes in written tell us nothing about her emotional condition while being interviewed or preparing statements for the authorities or the press.

I'm meaning that she didn't condemn outright the attacks in harshest possible terms, and disavow her sons' murderous actions.
