Captainchicken84: Aw, come on, it's not that big of a deal to sign up there, it's pretty easy! ;)

The developers told me on facebook that the reddit ama date is soon to be published. ;)

Engerek01: It asked for my phone number >.<

About the game (Early thoughts) :

The Good:
* The story sounds good. The Idea of greed (curse?) is appealing to me.
* The new thief skill, adding objects into other people's pockets can be fun. (Opposite of pickpocket)
* I liked the character animations so far.
* I liked the writing.

The Bad:
* The quests does not sound appealing. Fetch quests in a singleplayer? Grrr...
* The introduction video was... funny... I had to watch 3 times to understand what they were saying. First 2 times I was laughing and distracted by how they were reading and trying to act natural. That's always a bad sign for me.
* Not enough information to be able to backup a game. Next CRPG hit? Definitely not!

To Captainchicken84: Why would anyone trust a total stranger enough to support a game who does not even want to wishlist the game s/he is promoting?
avatar
Captainchicken84: I'm not wishlisting, i'm just doing some promotion on my own for these guys.

Engerek01:
You know, you can read some information on their official website, and also on their kickstarter and facebook page.

I never said i didn't want the game to be wishlisted, i was mistaking his post for something different.....sorry about that.

I'm still new to the forum here, even though i read here from time to time.

I made a mistake, i should have called it possible crpg hit, i'm sorry, i wanted to fix the title but sadly gog does not allow that, or i don't know how to do it.

You can also ask the devs on facebook, i'm sure they can answer your questions better than i do.

But i can only tell you that i also asked the devs about the quests and they assured me that they are not like these fetch quest stuff, which i also don't like, they told me they are deeply inspired by old biowares style of making/writing quests with interesting stories.

Almost 30 thousand on kickstarter now. :)

Captainchicken84: Almost 30 thousand on kickstarter now. :)
I threw some bucks at the kickstarter (thanks for pointing the game out). Over 45 thousand now, with 28 days to go. Looks like a very good chance of this one being funded. Hopefully the devs can deliver a good game.
Looks like it could be a solid crpg game. Also the price on KS is damn low and that plays nice on my greed side. On the other hand the team doesnt seem trustworthy to me (I dont know why, they seem to be too young and too enthusiastic:) and stretch goals are weird (new languages before another race?). I wish them luck getting their game on GoG but I will not nervously wait 1,5yr for it.

No problem, 45 thousand? They just exceeded 30 thousand. ;)

Ah, yes, I'm seeing it in Canadian dollars. I assume you're seeing it in US funds?

Now at 51,000 CDN.

Euro, actually. ;)
Looked up the kickstarter video, and boy, that is some amateurish stuff. I kinda like what I've seen so far though in other videos, so maybe I'll back after reading up more about it. 50-100 000 euros really isn't much though, so I'm not sure how much of a difference this will make. They must have other sources of financing to have gotten this far, as the game seems fairly far along in the development cycle.

At least Kickstarter allows other payment methods than Amazon now, which is why I couldn't (wouldn't) use them before (I saw en email correspondence with inXile from 2013 about it). The way those bastads backstabbed Wikileaks... I deleted my account there and haven't been back since. Previously I've ended up backing directly, like recently for Pillars of Eternity 2.

Sorry about that tangent at the end, but I'm sure the fans of the game will be glad about the bump :P

No problem, it might look amateurish, but keep in mind it's an indie developer, and Black Geyser is their first game, i liked the rendered trailer, gave me some late 90's vibes.

Also: we have almost 40 thousand. :)
45 thousand now, we're almost there, with 21 days to go! :)

Less than 2k now! :)
1 really short question... Is that upcoming game, created by someone, the likes of Beamdog?

I am tempted to participate, but i would rather know who i am dealing with beforehand (so as to avoid demanding refund). Bloodstained for instance, the only kickstarter i have ever participated, clearly refuses to conform to the as of late, trending paranoia of "fixing games" and is going to be uncensored, with a plethora of artistic liberties and far from the reach of toxic gamers&devs spewing hate upon art (while declaring "they love") and turning the media at hand, into an agenda ridden, bad quality, sorry excuse for a meme. Baldur's Gate, for instance, which has been reduced to a miserable little pile of shicrets!

Who develops and who publishes, this promising title? What are their profiles? Whose side are they on?

No, they are in no way affiliated with Beamdog, it's a complete independent developer, i think they will self publish their game, they are called Grape Ocean Technologies.

Black Geyser is their first game, but still these people have already earned many years of experience in the software and system engineering branche.

If you scroll down a bit on their Kickstarter page, you can see some of the people behind it, like for example their CEO David Zakal.

They are from Vienna with roots from eastern europe, like czech republic, but there are also some american people who work there.

Thank you very much! Much appreciated! I am going to back this up, then; i miss that good old era and i certainly, can't put up with the mess they reduced it to, in their modern iteration (scum like Beamdog)...

Thanks for sharing!
