Not really one for my "most overrated" list (at least not yet) , but I'm kind of bewildered by the praise one particular game got here on gog:

METRO 2033 REDUX

This game has a 4.5/5 rating here, the second most highest rated review (100% community approval) calls it "Refreshingly Oldschool".

What gives? I've played for 82 minutes and it's a linear, cinematic Cowadoody-like corridor shooter piece of shit. Does it get better later on? So far the game is everything that's wrong with modern FPSs (minus the rampant military porn). What am I missing here?

Pac-Man - I was always more of a Rally X man myself
The Sentinel - seriously, Zzap 64! just gave it a gold medal and no percentage rating because it blew their minds so hard they couldn't compare it to anything... or something - WTF?
Driller - maybe a great technical achievement to get that thing running on a C64 but not much of an actual game...
(well, you DID say of ALL time...)

I gotta give the edge to the real life version. That one does look way more fun.. with or without the shopping store gestapo.

Probably a good thing no one tried doing a real life version of Doom or Contra. Might not end well for the participants.

Fairfox: I always liked Castle Master better than Driller... No idea which was rated higher. Then again I didn't realise Driller was rated highly enough to be overrated?
Here's a helpful guide to tell if a game is overrated

1. did you read a least 30 posts of people saying they didn't completely hate the game?

2. did you read more than 3 reviews saying the game was half-decent?

3. do you care about what number a game gets?

4. does the game have a meta critic higher than 23.41231231233338988?

5. did the developer make enough money to put food on the table for a week?

If you answered yes to all of these questions then yes, the game is overrated.

Halo is the obvious choice...

But I think Pong is way overrated.
