SPEC OPS: THE FREKKIN LINE
Nowhere near as overrated as Apocalypse Now.

Yep, Most of the other Vietnam War movies are superior. The main character of Apocalypse Now doesn't even bother to sneak into Kurtz's camp... He just shows up at the entrance in his boat... Yeah... And the US Army sends only one guy to take Kurtz out instead of at least two or three guys? LOL And they could of just sent the main character to locate Kurtz's camp from a safe distance and then unleash an air strike on it. No need to have Kurtz killed the old fashioned way. And that battle at the bridge was so unrealistic. The movie showed a bunch of US Army soldiers sitting around, just listening to music during the battle. That would never happen, even if there was no commanding officer around. The sergeants would of taken over.

True. People were worshiping it like the greatest game ever made when it came out. After I purchased and beat the game, I was a little bit disappointed. There wasn't enough weapons and enemies types and the game was very short. The game's story also annoys me.

the story was not only annoying, but also inconsistent and boring. gameplay and ai were cheap. it was enjoyble till you fall out of the zeppelin. after that happens, this game just turns into one big pain in the ass. the story turns to shit, the gameplay gets boring and the graphics get worse too. this game is worth 15 bucks not 50! i got gaught by the hype and pr then preordered this pice of crap :( and since then i preordered only legend of grimrock 2 here on gog. i'm very careful now with preordering.

edit: you don't need to use much of the equipment to beat that game. i used almost all the time the carbine and sniper rifle, didn't need the other weapons and vigors were completely useless shit!

The game also tries too hard to be "artsy" and I hate that. You didn't need to use all the weapons and powers because there weren't enough types of enemies. They should of added more types of enemies.

i can see that bioshock infinite tries it from beginning till you fall out of the zeppelin. after that i don't even see it trying to be artsy.

I mean the cut scenes, how the story is presented to you was them trying too hard to be "artsy". The ending too. Instead of the cut scenes, explaining what is going on, they just show you, these scenes designed to provoke emotional responses that force you to spend time thinking about them even though it is impossible to figure out the story until the end of the game. So it felt like the game was trolling me. Every time a cut scene appeared on my screen, I was like "Not another one of these fucking annoying scenes with the main character getting drowned by some religious nuts." OR "Not another one of these scenes with the main character in his office, dealing with annoying people at his door." An ACTION game is supposed to deliver mostly ACTION, not some annoying artsy cryptic story. And the game is always trying to be dark just be dark. And it's just ridiculous because Bioshock Infinite is not a dark game. So the really dark scenes are very out of place and makes Elizabeth and Booker both look totally insane. I guess the problem is, Bioshock Infinite was trying hard to be this and that. The devs should of made sure, Bioshock Infinite is only one thing. A good action game.

Fantasysci5: If we weren't talking about games, I'd throw Doctor Who out there.
It's only popular among British people isn't it?

I thought the pacing was really bad. I felt like there was little to no story movement at points, especially that ghost of step mother thing.

real.geizterfahr: Skyrim. Looks beautiful and all that but it's one of the most boring games ever :/

Fantasysci5: Agreed. I tried to get into it, but it just seems boring and all grey and brown, no color.

The new Doctor Who or the old Doctor Who?

Yep. It's because instead of deciding to tell the story to players in an efficient logical way, they chose the artsy fartsy approach. And then suddenly the ghost of Elizabeth's step mother appears and you are like WTF?

No, I think the flying town design is cool.

i presume that they spend too much money from the budget on pr and had then not enough to develop the game. parts of game content in the trailers weren't in the game, one enemy type from the trailers wasn't in the game. and no fights with the song bird, you rarely see it.

They could've at least put in a boss fight with songbird instead of that entire ghost thing.
I know a few friends irl who consider this better than Bioshock by a large margin, and half of them didn't even complete Bioshock. :(

That is probably why there wasn't so many different enemy types and weapons in the game. Nowadays when it comes to selling games, marketing is everything so it makes sense that they spent most of it on marketing.

I think Bioshock is 1000 times better than Bioshock Infinite. Bioshock isn't artsy fartsy when it comes to telling you the story and the game is much more darker. And every weapon and vigor is needed to complete the game. And Bioshock's ending was shocking to me...and very thought provoking. And a happy ending is possible with Bioshock. I think its important for games to allow you to have a happy ending because it makes you feel like you didn't waste your time, a happy ending makes you feel like you made a difference in this universe.
