MaximumBunny: What is the NWN CD key changer update and why isn't there a download for it? :o
No more asking Support for Multiplayer Keys!

Best part of the sale ;) And it's a good sale!

christian223: 1 week ago I bought the Witcher 3 GOTY full price, on the black friday sale, now you have it 50% off on another sale... i'm confused.
By the way, I'm happy to give you money for a great product, but two different sales, with different offers, separated for a few days, it's a bit weird, I could have bought 2 games instead of one with that money :/
What kind of sale makes you pay full price?
I don't know what's going on but I see Dead Space and Mirror Edge (for example) going for EUR 18.59 each, close to EUR 9 if discounted by 50%, while on Steam the full price is EUR 9.99 each. This looks like a complete ripoff to me, launch at double the price then discount it by 50% to fool your customers. All while advertising discounts of up to 90% ... probably for some 20 years old crap nobody would even look at if it weren't for nostalgia.

The Fall Sale was better. :S
So now all my kids have GOG accounts so we can all play Neverwinter Nights when they're just a little bit older!!! Thanks GOG!

Luned: You get a gift code for the game that you can give away (or trade to someone else).
avatar
chricton: Thanks for the quick reply. :)
I think the gifts will have an expiration date though. You probably won't be able to give away or trade them next year, only until the end of the month or something like that.

We had this discussion when the games were released here. Apparantly on Steam and Origin they are cheaper in Europe than in the US, while on GOG they use US prices despite the regional pricing. Don't ask me why they can get away with such high prices in the US though.

"HOW MUCH TIME DO I HAVE TO REDEEM MY FREE GAME?

The free game codes will expire on January 11, 10:59 PM UTC."

On another note, quite a number of releases on the first day of a sale. Rather odd.
Is it just me or the build a bundle discounts are kind of irrelevant and confusing ?
I was hoping that the more games I add to build a bundle the more discount I would get. Or at least that the discount won't go lower and lower the more games I select. I don't think it was that way before and frankly it doesn't make sence.

For one, you also have various collections among the bundles now and those offer no additional discount, they're just a bunch of games selected by a certain person out of those in the sale. As for the actual BYOBs, they seem to have two levels, the base discount and the full one if you pick at least the number of items listed. But discounts vary per game and what is listed is the overall discount, so if you pick a game an older cheap game with a large base discount followed by a newer more expensive one with a smaller discount, the overall discount for both games expressed as a percentage will show up as decreasing quite sharply. Pick another more expensive game with a small discount and it'll decrease further. Pick other games with high discounts and it'll appear to increase. But in fact there's no change in the discounts for each game, those only change once, increasing when you reach the number required for the bundle's full discount.

Thanks for replying !
Yes, I've noticed that some of the build a bundles require a minimum number of games to reach the maximum promissed discount in the specific bundle.
The things is, as You said that some of the games are more expensive or more valuable than the other ( mostly with $1 difference from the other games ).
In my opinion it is still lets say confusing that you pick 2/3 of the games in the bundle ( the required number ) and the discount can go down from 50-60$ off to 30% off, despite the fact you picked up a bunch of games and this is meant to be a sale. I think it would be better to just keep the discount at 50% off without it going down and then the discount increases if the buyer decides to pick more games with kower value.
Don't want to complain or something but just pointing that most of those game go for 50-60% off even when there are no sales.

MaximumBunny: What is the NWN CD key changer update and why isn't there a download for it? :o
It's apparently a simple utility that allows people who aren't comfortable manually editing config files to change the generic multiplayer serial key to the user-specific one GOG now provides right in the library. Kinda like the "DOSBox configurator" that they include with most or all games they sell that use DOSBox to run.
There's no separate download because it's included in the installation, and it serves no purpose without the game being installed.
